Brian L. Johnson

Brian L. Johnson has been practicing law since 1996, and has been a resident of Benzie County since 1999. Brian received his B.A., magna cum laude, from Michigan State University, and his J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School. Brian's areas of practice include estate planning, business formation, general business practice, and real estate. His extensive experience includes assisting clients with estates ranging in value from less than $10,000 to in excess of $20 million. He has also represented numerous businesses in a wide range of commercial enterprises. When not at the office, Brian enjoys spending time with his wife and four children, exploring the outdoors, hiking, swimming and traveling. Mr. Johnson's areas of practice include estate planning, business formation, general business practice, and real estate.

David A. Cvengros

Kathryn E. Glancy

Kathryn Glancy received her undergraduate degree, with honors, from Michigan State University in 2002. During law school, Ms. Glancy was a managing editor of the Law Review and secretary of the Phi Alpha Delta Legal Fraternity. She graduated cum laude from Michigan State University College of Law, in 2005. For the past 17 years, Kathryn has practiced throughout northwest Michigan, assisting clients with a wide range of matters including business, estate planning, guardianships, family law, real property, criminal defense, and civil litigation. Prior to moving to Traverse City, Kathryn owned and operated Glancy Law Office, PLLC in Ludington, Michigan where she enjoyed the opportunity to build a close relationship with her clients, and provide comprehensive services for all their legal needs. Kathryn serves on the board of the Traverse Bay Child Advocacy Center and is a member of the Grand Traverse-Leelanau-Antrim County Bar Association. Additionally, Kathryn is trained in the collaborative divorce process, and received estate planning certification from the Institute of Continuing Legal Education. She enjoys running, reading, skiing, and spending time with her husband, their children, and rescue dog, Onyx. Ms. Glancy assists clients with a wide range of matters including business, estate planning, guardianships, family law, real property, criminal defense, and civil litigation.

Keith Koonmen

Keith received his undergraduate degree from the University of Kentucky in 2006 and graduated with distinction from Western Michigan University Cooley Law School in 2010. Prior to moving to Traverse City in 2019 Keith spent ten years as a litigator in Grand Rapids representing clients in a diverse range of legal issues. Keith's practice primarily includes complex civil litigation, real estate, family law, estate planning and landlord tenant matters. Keith joined the firm in 2023 bringing with him a solutions-oriented mindsight to resolve his client's complex legal matters. Keith successfully represents clients throughout Northern Michigan. Keith serves on the Board of Directors for Grand Traverse-Leelanau-Antrim County Bar Association and the Adams Chapter of Trout Unlimited. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time outdoors biking, skiing, and fly fishing with his wife Emilia, daughter Claire, and son Franklin. Mr. Koonmen's practice primarily includes complex civil litigation, real estate, family law, estate planning and landlord tenant matters.

Matthew D. Vermetten

Vermetten is a highly dedicated and experienced litigator with nearly 30 years of legal expertise. He has successfully litigated cases at all levels of the state and federal courts.

Melissa Baumgartner

Melissa received her undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan in 2006 and graduated cum laude from Pace University School of Law in 2010. Melissa's practice includes representation of individuals in divorce, post-divorce, custody, paternity, parenting time, Personal Protection Order (PPO) and minor guardianship matters, as well as general civil litigation and criminal matters. Prior to returning to Michigan, Melissa was employed at the Legal Aid Society's Juvenile Rights Practice, where she served as the attorney for the children in child protective matters in Bronx Family Court. Melissa serves on the board of the Women Lawyer's Association and Zero Tolerance: Ending Child Sexual Abuse and is a member of the State Bar of Michigan Family Law Section Domestic Violence Committee. Additionally, Melissa is a member of Collaborative Practice Institute of Michigan and is trained in the collaborative divorce process. Native to Traverse City, Melissa enjoys spending time swimming, boating and exploring Northern Michigan with her husband Daniel and their son, Aiden.

Michelle L. Schubert

Michelle L. Schubert has been working in the legal field in the areas of family law, probate and estate planning, juvenile justice, personal protection orders (PPO), international trade, and environmental law for over 20 years. Michelle received her undergraduate degree in Anthropology from Central Michigan University, and she graduated cum laude from Thomas M. Cooley Law School with a concentration in International Public Law. After graduating law school, Michelle worked in the judiciary under several judges, and during her time with the courts, she established the first circuit court administered Teen Court in the State of Michigan. She brings experience from a wide range of well-respected law firms in Michigan and abroad. Michelle is a passionate advocate for her clients and is working to expand her legal services as a certified domestic relations mediator. When she is away from the office, she enjoys spending time with her family, and you'll often find her in a traditional Finnish sauna. Ms. Schubert has been working in the legal field in the areas of family law, probate and estate planning, juvenile justice, personal protection orders (PPO), international trade, and environmental law for over 20 years.

Steve Fox

Steve Fox represents businesses, professionals, families, and nonprofit organizations in all areas of business, real estate, agriculture, and estate planning law. Steve brings a practical, proactive approach to a wide range of issues, from corporate governance and management to complex business and real estate transactions and disputes. He has represented clients in the boardroom, in all local courts, in Michigan courts of appeal, and in state and local administrative bodies and tribunals. Steve has substantial experience with land use and zoning matters, and assists developers, associations, and co-owners regarding condominium and fractional ownership issues. Steve regularly consults with physicians, healthcare providers, and other professionals about business planning, mergers, employment, licensing, regulatory, and risk management issues. Steve is a graduate of the University of Detroit School of Law, the University of Michigan, and attended Northwestern Michigan College. Steve joined the firm in 2021, and was a member of Bishop, Fox & Cvengros PC (f/k/a Bishop & Heintz PC) for more than 20 years. Thomas A. Pezzetti, Jr

Thomas A. Pezzetti, Jr. practices in the areas of business, banking, and real estate law. Mr. Pezzetti received his undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan (BBA) and his graduate degree from Michigan State University (MBA). Mr. Pezzetti earned his law degree from the University of Michigan Law School, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude and Order of the Coif. Mr. Pezzetti assists clients on a variety of matters including complex business and real estate transactions. He counsels companies in a wide range of business planning, operational and contractual matters, including sales and acquisitions.
