Adriana Castro

Adriana has a diverse background, having worked as a consultant for the World Food Program (WFP), the Development Bank of Latin America (CAF), and the Colombian Government, among others. During her time in the public sector, she was a senior advisor for the drafting and approval process of the National Youth Policy (CONPES Document 4040). Additionally, as the SDG coordinator at the National Planning Department, she led the implementation of the 2030 Agenda and the SDGs in Colombia. Outside of work, Adriana enjoys foodsploring and traveling. Her passion for experiencing new cultures and cuisines is a testament to her curious and adventurous spirit.

Ahmed Shihab Zaman

Ahmed Shihab Zaman is the National Platform Liaison for Partnering for Green Growth and the Global Goals 2030 (P4G) platform in Bangladesh. His main role is to liaise and develop relationships with Co-chairs and key stakeholders; to promote P4G's support among related public and private communities; to support the selection, management and acceleration of partnerships in Bangladesh. Shihab has deep interest in developing and advancing innovative financial solutions to addressing development and climate challenges around the world. Prior to P4G, he worked as an Intervention Manager in a USAID funded CSISA MEA project, specializing in the development of market systems for agricultural-based mechanization, as well as assisting in the design of blended finance for marginal farmers. Prior to that, he worked at Nathan Associates with its Business Finance for the Poor in Bangladesh (BFP-B), DFID funded project, as Partnership Management Consultant. He began his career at BRAC, working on its micro-finance and small enterprises development programs in Liberia and Bangladesh. Shihab holds a Bachelor degree in Business Administration. He was awarded the British Council Charles Wallace Fellowship to work with the International Center for Transformational Entrepreneurship on community development and social entrepreneurship at Coventry University. Shihab enjoys watching football and tennis. He also loves to read fiction in his spare time.

Andres Angel

Andres Angel is the Senior Engagement Manager of P4G, Partnering for Green Growth and the Global Goals 2030, an initiative to support innovative public-private partnerships that advance the new economy. In this capacity, Andres is responsible for P4G's Global Hub engagement and fundraising strategies with public, private, and non-for-profit stakeholders in partner countries and organizations. Prior to joining P4G, Andres was the Co-Founder & Director of Public Affairs at Pacifico Consulting, a boutique consulting firm specializing in sustainability. In this role he helped private sector clients align their core business objectives with social and environmental targets of emerging economies and developing countries to create shared value. Having worked previously in the public and private sectors in South and North America, Asia, and Africa, Andres brings a breadth of experience to P4G. In his most recent work in government, Andres served as Chief of Staff to the Vice President of Colombia, being responsible for the strategic direction, vision, work program, funding strategy, and engagement of the country's most ambitious post-conflict reconstruction program. As a board member in international charities and foundations, Andres brings a strategic vision for the development of partnerships and fundraising capabilities for P4G. Andres holds a BA in International Relations and Affairs from Claremont McKenna College and a Masters in Policy Leadership from Georgetown University. Andres is based in Bogota, Colombia. In his free time, he enjoys the outdoors, taking advantage of the country's natural richness and diversity.

Aniruddha (Ani) Dasgupta

Aniruddha (Ani) Dasgupta is President and CEO of WRI, where he works to advance the institute's global vision to improve the lives of all people and ensure that nature can thrive. Dasgupta is a widely-recognized leader in the areas of sustainable cities, urban design and poverty alleviation. He developed his expertise in positions ranging from nonprofits in India to the World Bank, where he developed the Bank's first Knowledge strategy. He took the helm at WRI after seven years as Global Director of WRI Ross Center for Sustainable Cities, which is dedicated to shaping a future where cities work better for all people. Under his leadership, the Cities program grew to 400 staff members working in 150 cities, with a reach to more than 400 cities in total. He has established large, multi-stakeholder partnerships with city, national and corporate leaders around the world. Ani has helped create and lead innovative initiatives, including the New Urban Mobility alliance (NUMO) and the Coalition for Urban Transitions, as well as a new line of work around urban air quality. He also brought an increased focus on people and equity to the program. Prior to joining WRI in 2014, Dasgupta served as Director of Knowledge and Learning at the World Bank, where he provided leadership in the Bank's knowledge services for development. He also worked extensively in the World Bank's Jakarta office as head of infrastructure, where he was deeply engaged in post-2004 tsunami reconstruction in Aceh, as an advisor to the government on housing and infrastructure reconstruction and as the head of the Bank's housing and infrastructure team. His work at the Bank took him throughout Asia and Eastern Europe as a technical expert centered on community-based development, urban environment, disaster management, solid waste management, water supply and sanitation. Originally from Delhi, India, Dasgupta developed an interest early in life in buildings and design. He earned a bachelor's degree in architecture, with an emphasis on low-income housing, at the School of Planning and Architecture in India. Later, he was accepted at a special program at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) focused on affordable housing. Dasgupta holds master's degrees from MIT in city planning and architecture. He lives in Washington, DC with his wife and has two sons.

Barbara Creecy

Barbara Creecy is the Minister of Forestry and Fisheries and Environmental Affairs of the Republic of South Africa from 30 May 2019. Ms. Barbara Creecy is one of the leaders of the ANC and currently serves as a member of the National Executive Committee and National Working Committee. She is well respected by stakeholders as a capable leader, with a good track record in public policy formulation and implementation. Ms. Creecy is one of the longest serving Members of the Provincial Legislature. She joined the legislature in 1994, and until 2004, served in different portfolios including Deputy Chief Whip as well as Chairperson of the Social Development and Education Committees. In 2004 she was appointed MEC for Sports, Recreation, Arts and Culture. After the General Elections in 2009, Ms. Creecy moved to the Education portfolio. It was under her leadership that the Gauteng Department of Education pioneered a turnaround strategy to improve matric performance in 400 underperforming township schools. In April 2014, the programme was recognized by the United Nations and awarded first prize in the category "Improving Delivery of Public Services". Ms. Creecy currently serves as the Member of the Executive Council responsible for Finance in the Gauteng Provincial Government. In her capacity as the MEC of Finance, she is responsible for Gauteng Provincial Treasury, Department of e-Government and an agency called Gauteng Infrastructure Financing Agency. Her efforts in the Treasury have made it recognised both provincially and nationally as one of the pioneers in financial management in the public sector. Through Ms. Creecy's guidance, e-Gov is also making progress in modernising the public service. Ms. Creecy grew up in Johannesburg. Her political career started when she joined the anti-apartheid movement and later the underground structures on the ANC whilst a student at Wits in the late 1970s. She worked for the Civic Desk of the United Democratic Front and later joined an NGO that offered training and organisational development support to trade unions and community structures. She holds an Honours Degree in Political Science from the University of the Witwatersrand and a Masters Degree in Public Policy and Management from the University of London.

Dennis Awori

Dennis Awori has spent most of his working life in the Motor Industry across East Africa, in which he has held various positions including Sales and Marketing Manager, Branch Manager, General Manager, Managing Director and Chairman. He was the founding Vice Chairman of the Kenya Private Sector Alliance (the umbrella body for Kenya's private sector) and the founding Chairman of the KEPSA Foundation and a Trustee of the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry. He was appointed the Ambassador of the Republic of Kenya to Japan and Korea from 2003 to 2009. During his tenure he assisted to open a new Embassy in Korea and built strong relations between Kenya and the two countries, especially through their private sectors, in keeping with Kenya's new focus on economic diplomacy. Upon his return he rejoined the private sector as Chairman of Toyota East Africa Ltd, covering Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi and Sudan, with responsibilities in both automotive and non automotive businesses. He is also a non Executive Director of several other companies including three listed ones. In 2017 he was appointed Chairman and Country Delegate for CFAO Kenya Ltd, Director of CFAO Holdings South Africa and Director of CFAO SAS, wholly owned subsidiaries of Toyota Tsusho Corporation. The CFAO Group is in 35 countries in Africa and does business in another 19 countries through independent Dealers. CFAO operates in 4 business domains, namely Mobility; Healthcare; Fast Moving Consumer Goods and Agriculture and Technologies, Renewable Energy and Infrastructure. Dr. Getahun Garedew

In this role, Hali helps to develop and implement proactive communications strategies to build P4G's thought leadership and establish it as a global delivery mechanism to Build Back Better and Greener in this decade of action. Prior to joining P4G, Hali worked as the Communications Coordinator for the Bank Information Center, an NGO that advocates for transparency, accountability, sustainability, and inclusion in development finance. Previously, she served as a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant in Brazil, where she engaged public university students through English learning and cultural exchange. Hali was also a part of the P4G team in 2018 as the Engagement Intern. Hali holds a Bachelor's degree in International Studies and History, with a certificate in Latin American Studies, from the University of Florida. In her free time, she enjoys running, traveling, reading, and spending time outside.

Hiwot Hailu is the P4G National Platform Liaison in Ethiopia, where she coordinates efforts of different P4G National Platform stakeholders as well accelerating and sourcing new partnerships. Hiwot has a vast experience working with the international organizations such as USAID and U.S. Forest Service and the Government of Ethiopia. She has served as a Climate Change and Clean Energy Advisor to the Ethiopian Industrial Parks Development Corporation where she supported the development of sustainable industrial parks in the country. As an Investment Advisor she has been supporting the Ethiopian Investment Commission in promoting the investment opportunities of the country to investors in targeted countries, mobilizing resources from different development partners as well as providing aftercare support to Foreign Direct Investments under implementation and operational stage. Under the USAID'S Market Systems for Growth Program, Hiwot has been supporting to increasing engagement of the private sectors in Agriculture, Water and Sanitation in Capital Mobilization from different financial institutions. Hiwot has also been highly involved with the development of the green manufacturing and energy efficiency strategy for the manufacturing sector of Ethiopia. Furthermore, she was engaged with the development of sludge management guideline to the Ethiopian Industrial Parks as well as solid waste management guideline to the agro-industrial parks of the country. Mr. Mark Watts

Mr. Mark Watts serves as the Executive Director for C40 Cities Climate Leadership Group. Prior to joining the Forum, Gim Huay held various Managing Director roles at Temasek International, namely Climate Change Strategy, Sustainability as well as Enterprise Development. She was responsible for spearheading Temasek's climate and sustainability strategy and initiatives including ESG policy, impact investing and blended finance as well as capability building and stakeholder engagement. Gim Huay was formerly a Management Consultant with McKinsey in the US and Africa, advising clients on strategy and operations in the banking, energy and technology sectors. She co-led the set up of McKinsey's first office in Sub Saharan Africa in Lagos, Nigeria. Before McKinsey, Gim Huay was in the Administrative Service of the Singapore Government, and had worked in the Scenario Planning Office of the Prime Minister's Office, Singapore Embassy in Washington DC, Ministry of Trade and Ministry of Finance. She was a senior negotiator in the US-Singapore Free Trade Agreement. Gim Huay is a Member of the Creating Shared Value Council, Nestle SA; Member of the Singapore Eco-Fund Advisory Committee under the Ministry of Sustainability and the Environment. In this role, Sangeetha directs communications outreach and strategy to current and potential partners, media, and other stakeholders. Prior to joining P4G, Sangeetha was an Account Supervisor at Vanguard Communications, a public relations agency committed to leveraging the power of communications for positive social change. She has supported government and nonprofit clients with strategic communications planning and implementation across issues like food security, water, health and wellness, education, medicine and science. She has led strategic communications planning trainings in Nigeria, Indonesia and Brazil. Prior to her career in communications, Sangeetha was a reporter and producer at CNN-IBN in New Delhi, India. Sangeetha holds a Master of Journalism from the University of Maryland, College Park and an MA in economics from the University of Pune, India. She has a BA in economics from Fergusson College in Pune. Sangeetha is originally from India and currently lives in Virginia with her family. Sarbinder Singh is the Director of Investments at P4G. He is an experienced professional with expertise in managing investments and innovation and has previously managed a portfolio of over $1 billion equity investment in hydroelectric, solar and natural gas based combined cycle generating stations. He has delivered many innovative business and financial solutions in the energy and utility business involving regulated and contracted assets. His expertise includes managing innovation at development and growth stages, designing and operationalizing commercial structures, investment valuations, equity investments, project financing and venture governance. He was instrumental in setting up a seed equity fund for investment in small and medium-sized hydro projects in Nepal and had co-developed one start-up.  He has worked with leading organizations in India, the United States and Canada.   His educational qualifications include MBA (Finance) from the University of British Columbia (Canada), PGDBM (Finance) from Institute of Management Technology (India) and BE (Hons) in Chemical Engineering from Panjab University (India). Shakira Akbar is the P4G National Platform Liaison in South Africa, where she will support the National Platform and source prospective new partnerships. Prior to joining P4G, serving as a Director, she successfully launched the inaugural International Humanitarian Summit in March 2022, during the Expo 2020 in Dubai, which is a dialogue promoting global cooperation and unity, convening global non-profits, academia, corporate and government, and partnering on achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. She brings two decades of public sector experience at the South African Department of Trade, Industry and Competition, more than half of which she spent representing the Department abroad in key markets. She previously served as Trade and Investment Commissioner for South Africa, covering the Midwest and West Coast of the USA and was responsible for new market development as well as facilitating foreign direct investment into South Africa, including green technology projects. During her diplomatic service she also represented the Department as Economic Consul in the United Arab Emirates (covering Oman and Qatar). Upon her return she managed the Asia East and Middle East Export Promotion desks at the South African Department of Trade, Industry and Competition. She has worked in markets such as China, Japan, Hong Kong, South Korea, Taiwan, all the Gulf states, the Levant, and Turkey, promoting business in the Energy, Healthcare, Defense, IT, Infrastructure, Agroprocessing and Apparel sectors.
