Our research group focuses on developing and integrating computational modeling tools to study and predict multiscale defect formation mechanisms, nano- and microstructures, and properties of advanced materials. To calibrate, parametrize and validate our modeling efforts, we employ machine-learning and data analysis algorithms alongside experimental techniques, such as optical microscopy, scanning electron microscopy (SEM-orientation image mapping) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM).
