Courts has always aimed to provide everything for the home under one roof and so its main retailing lines are furniture, electrical, electronic and leisure... Courts is an international brand that began its journey as a furniture retailer in 1850 in Canterbury, England. It traded until the shop was damaged during the Second World War and it was then sold to the Cohen family in 1946. Conditions in Britain had of course worsened as a result of the war and Courts introduced credit to help its customers purchase goods to improve their homes. Credit has remained a central part of the company's offering ever since. The Cohens expanded the business throughout the UK and internationally, coming to Mauritius as Courts Mammouth in 1985.
