The S\V14 originated in Thailand where a group of people were on a quest for a competitive but affordable and accessible boat. The award-winning Dutch design office Simonis-Voogd came to their help and custom-designed a brand new accessible boat. Later they were joined by Fareast Yachts in Shanghai who committed to building the boats at cost price. The S\V 14 took off rapidly with sailors all over the world competing in these magnificent machines.
