Brittany Atkinson

Brittany is from the Chicago land area and obtained her undergraduate degree Magna Cum Laude from Quincy University, where she was an NCAA Division II volleyball player. She then went on to Duke University, where she completed her Master of Health Sciences. Brittany has worked in dermatology since graduating from Duke and has developed special interest in acne, atopic dermatitis, psoriasis, and skin cancer education and prevention. She is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants. In her free time, Brittany enjoys spending time with her family and two Labrador retrievers, diving into a good book, traveling, and cheering on the Blue Devils.

Caroline C. Day

A North Carolina native, Caroline obtained her undergraduate degree in Psychology and Biology from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, graduating with distinction. She attended Wake Forest School of Medicine PA Program, and completed her master's thesis on melanoma, earning her Master of Medical Science degree in 2016. Upon graduating, she practiced in general surgery at REX hospital prior to entering the field of dermatology in a private practice setting. Caroline has served as both a surgical and dermatology clinical preceptor for PA students. She thoroughly enjoys seeing pediatric through geriatric patients in surgical, general, and cosmetic dermatology contexts. Caroline is passionate about patient education and preventative medicine and greatly looks forward to serving her community in both the Cary and Raleigh locations at Blue Ridge Dermatology Associates.

Jocelyn Mendes

Dr. Mendes is a Chapel Hill native. She completed her undergraduate education at Clemson University in the Calhoun Honors College. She stayed in South Carolina for medical school at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine - Greenville. During medical school she was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honors Society and received the Academic Excellence Award, an award given to the top three students per class, each year. Dr. Mendes completed her intern year in Internal Medicine at the Mount Sinai Health System in New York prior to returning home to Chapel Hill for a Dermatology residency at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. Dr. Mendes' clinical interests include general, cosmetic, and surgical Dermatology. She provides treatments for skin rejuvenation, including neurotoxin and injectable fillers. When she isn't in clinic you can find Dr. Mendes chasing her kids around a (shaded) park, cheering on Clemson football or UNC basketball, and attempting DIY home improvement projects.

Karla Flores Chavez

Having grown up most of her life in North Carolina, Karla received her undergraduate degree from North Carolina State University with a bachelor's degree in Human Biological Sciences. She went on to attend the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Medicine Physician Assistant Program, where she earned her Master of Health Sciences in Physician Assistant Studies. Karla served as a medical assistant at Blue Ridge Dermatology Associates, which solidified her passion for all aspects of Dermatology. Being of Mexican heritage, Karla is bilingual and speaks fluent Spanish. She looks forward to providing the most compassionate and patient-centered care to all ages with a focus on patient education. When she is not at work, Karla enjoys spending quality time with her family and friends.

Lindsay Osborn

Blue Ridge Dermatology Associates, P.A. is pleased to announce the addition of a Mohs surgeon to our practice. On August 15th, 2024, Lindsay Osborn, MD, joined our group and is now accepting patients requiring Mohs surgery. Dr. Osborn was born in Atlanta, GA, and completed her undergraduate education in economics at the University of Georgia in Athens, GA. She then attended medical school at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, GA. During medical school, she was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society. Dr. Osborn completed her internship at Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle, WA, where she trained in general and plastic surgery. She then moved to Chapel Hill, NC, for her dermatology residency at UNC. She stayed at UNC for her Mohs surgery fellowship, where she trained in dermatologic oncology and facial reconstruction. Her interests outside of work include reading, classical cello, attending live music shows of all genres, and gardening.

Nikita Goel

Dr. Goel was born in Baltimore, Maryland, but grew up in Cary, North Carolina. She completed her undergraduate education at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a B.S. in psychology and biology and a minor in Spanish for medical professions. She then spent some time in Washington, D.C., where she pursued a master's degree in physiology and biophysics at Georgetown University. Dr. Goel subsequently obtained her medical degree at The Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University, where she was granted the Albert Schweitzer Fellowship in recognition of her work with children in the underserved community. She went on to complete a pediatric residency at Case Western Reserve in Cleveland, OH, and became board-certified in pediatrics. Afterward, she returned to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill to complete her dermatology residency and decided to stay in the Triangle to serve the community she grew up in. During her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, dancing, hiking, and exploring local cuisine.
