Dr David Treanor joined ACSL in November 2021 with an extensive background in leading and managing the delivery of qualitative human services. David has worked in both government and non-government services across Australia. David's previous role was as the National Leader for L'Arche Australia, where he was responsible for forming rigorous engagement strategies to develop and exceed regulatory compliance standards. His focus is on continuous improvement and finding innovative ways for everyone to live flourishing lives supported within a safe community. David holds a PhD in Philosophy; his dissertation presents a revised and richer understanding of friendship and qualification in social work and religious education

Dr Robyn Miller

Dr Robyn Miller brings over 30 years' experience in community services, local government and child protection sectors, and has practised in both the public and private sectors as a therapist, clinical supervisor, consultant and lecturer. From 2006-15 Robyn provided professional leadership as the chief practitioner within the Department of Human Services in Victoria, was a member of the Victorian Child Death Review Committee for 10 years and worked as a consultant with the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse. Since 2016, Robyn has been the CEO of MacKillop Family Services, which provides specialist services to vulnerable and disadvantaged children, young people and their families in Victoria, New South Wales and Western Australia. Dr Ursula Stephens - CEO

Dr Ursula Stephens is CEO Of Australian Catholic Safeguarding Limited (ACSL). Prior to joining ACSL, Dr Stephens was CEO of Catholic Social Services Australia where she was the voice for vulnerable and marginalised people, as well as the hundreds of Catholic social service sites across the country that support them. Ursula served for 12 years in the Australian Parliament as a Senator for New South Wales from 2002 to 2014. She was Parliamentary Secretary Assisting the Prime Minister for Social Inclusion and the Voluntary Sector in the Rudd Government. As a member of the Executive, she chaired senior government Committees, including the Joint Standing Committee on Human Rights. After leaving Parliament, Ursula was the inaugural Chair of the Fundraising Institute Australia's Code Authority and is a Director of the Australian Centre for Philanthropy and Non-Profit studies. Ursula has extensive experience and a deep understanding of the social services sector, social policy development, government relations and community services more broadly. Her background includes civil duties, adult and community education, small business, community and regional development, public policy and administration. She holds a PhD in Public Administration and a Bachelor of Education. Dr Stephens is also an active member of her local parish community where she chairs the Canberra-Goulburn Archdiocese committee overseeing the restoration of the historic Goulburn cathedral.

Karen Mosley

Karen Mosley joined ACSL in June 2021 as the Director, Professional Standards and Complaints Karen has extensive experience in complaints management, investigation and regulatory compliance within government regulatory bodies and highly regulated corporate sectors. During her career Karen has been responsible for establishing robust engagement strategies to develop and implement innovative compliance and complaints frameworks that incorporate the diverse positions of a range of stakeholders. As an outcomes focused collaborative leader, Karen now brings her wealth of expertise to ACSL to streamline and oversee the Complaints Response functions of the organisation.

Kat Beavis

Kat joined ACSL in 2019 with a background in non-profit digital communications. Prior to joining ACSL Kat worked internationally in communications and fundraising for a Cambodian child protection organisation. She has previously worked in risk communications for a public affairs consulting firm with a focus on helping companies to develop a social licence to operate. Kat has completed a Master of International Relations and a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Politics and Philosophy.

Kendra Bosworth

Kendra has significant experience in the adult education field, specialising in compliance, instructional design, academic and learner support, and quality and project management. Kendra has developed integrated quality management systems for education providers as well as conducting numerous compliance audits within the sector. Recently returned from Ireland where Kendra worked extensively within the international women's community; she has also worked in the Australian non-for-profit sector, including teaching primary school scripture and assisting newly arrived refugees into our community. Kendra's commitment to social justice, diversity and ensuring learners are supported, enabling equitable learning environments, has underpinned her wide-ranging background and career.

Maria Harries AM

Professor Maria Harries AM is Adjunct Professor at Curtin University and a Senior Honorary Research Fellow in Social Work and Social Policy in the School of Population Health at The University of Western Australia.Maria has a long history in governance roles in health, aged care and welfare services. Her 45-year professional career has been dedicated to assisting children and families, particularly in relation to mental health and trauma associated with their experiences of abuse and violence. Maria served as a member of the Trust, Justice and Healing Council established by the Catholic Church in recognition of the importance of the Royal Commission and the imperative for the Church to address the past openly and honestly.
