Alejandra Major

A sixth generation Coloradan, Alejandra grew up in a law enforcement family. She is currently on the state government relations team with the American Petroleum Institute Colorado. Prior to this role, she coordinated the philanthropic giving for the Denver-based Coors family, worked at the Colorado House of Representatives, and served on the Washington, D.C. staff of U.S. Senator Cory Gardner. In addition to her work with the Denver Police Museum, Alejandra devotes her time to the Wheat Ridge Police Department Community Advisory Group, the Jefferson County Equine and Agriculture Heritage Commission, and the Junior League of Denver. She is a graduate of Pepperdine University and holds a master's degree in public administration from the University of Colorado Denver.

April Overman

April Overman is a retired Denver Police Dispatcher serving the Citizens of Denver for 30 years and is a licensed Independent Real Estate Broker in the state of Colorado since 1977. April is married to a retired Denver Police Officer who served the City of Denver for 33 years. She is very committed to the Denver Police Museum project and its mission to help build bridges between law enforcement and the community. April leads the Museum's programming committee where she is enjoys connecting with students in the Metro Denver community and making a difference in their lives. April began as a volunteer with the Denver Police Museum in 2016 and was appointed Treasurer in 2018.

Linda Remley

Linda Remley joined the executive board of the Denver Police Museum as secretary in April 2018. She brings a bit of Recording Secretary experience to the Museum board with her 31 year membership in the National Society, Daughters of the American Revolution. Linda is a graduate of Colorado Women's College (now the Women's College at the University of Denver) with a degree in Political Science and minors in Economics and Psychology. She did her student teaching at North High School, but did not follow a career in classroom education. PR was her "calling" and it was answered. Linda is Vice President, Jewett Family of America, member of International Police Association and Mount Rosa Chapter, National Society, Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR). Currently, she serves the Colorado State Society as PR/Media Chairman, Speaker's Staff member, Chapter Recording Secretary and two chapter chairman positions. She has served the NSDAR as a National Vice Chairman, a past member of the Colorado State Executive Board, president of all but one club within the society. Linda is Senior State Chaplain, Children of the American Revolution and Librarian for a United States Daughters War of 1812 chapter. Historic Preservation tops her interests and many of her late husband's police collections have been donated to the Denver Police Museum. Joining the Police Museum seems a natural progression in service to the community. She is a past member, Sons of Norway, no she is not Norwegian, and thoroughly enjoyed participating in ‘Ski for Light' as a Nordic ski instructor. Alpine skiing has always been the first "love" and that was fulfilled as a ski instructor for many years. Traveling extensively has given her the opportunity to advance her interest in history and learn about other cultures. The many friends gained from these experiences has certainly enhanced her world.

Michael Hesse - President

Michael Hesse is a Colorado Native with an BSBA in Business from the University of Denver. Mike's career is focused on community activity and activism. His early involvement in Colorado Politics resulted in his appointment by President George HW Bush as an aide to HHS Secretary Louis W. Sullivan where he worked at the Department of Health and Human Services focusing on several administration initiatives including the President's Initiative For Child Immunization in underserved communities receiving an Award from the US Secretary of Health for outstanding Service. Mike also participated President Bush's effort to provide medical assistance to Africa for AIDS relief and received recognition from the Indian Health Service for his efforts to focus public attention on Native Americans' health concerns. He also worked for the American Medical Association building grassroots support for various patient and physician improvements in the US Medical System. Mike later worked for ten years as the Chief of Staff for three different members of the United States Congress and led staff efforts to create the Great Sand Dunes National Park in Southern Colorado and McInnis Canyons, a protected natural area on the western slope of Colorado. Mike is the son of the late Denver Police Detective Edwin A. Hesse Jr. and he played an important role in the creation of the Denver Police Museum in 2008. Mike is the second President of the Museum and has served in this role since 2015.

Sgt. Dean Christopherson

Dean was a founding member of the Executive Board of the DPLEM since 2006. His passion for the preservation and history of the policing in Denver has been the catalyst behind this project. This passion was what ignited the idea of a Police Museum in the Denver metro area. Dean is currently a sergeant assigned to District 1 with the Denver Police Department. He joined the DPD in July 2000 and worked patrol until appointed Community Resource Officer in District Four, from 2007 until June 2013. Prior to that, he worked as a Narcotics Enforcement Agent, under the North Dakota Bureau of Criminal Investigation from 1992 - 2000. In the years before his law enforcement career, he was in the hospitality business, owning and operating his own restaurants, and as Vice - President Operations, for a franchising company based in the Midwest, with locations in Wisconsin, Minnesota, and North Dakota. In addition, Dean also has nearly 7 years of previous experience as a Firefighter. Dean conducts research of fallen officers for placement on the National Law Enforcement Memorial Fund website, as well as other historical information related to law enforcement.
