The title of our project "Epi c" is a coinage created from the prefix "Epi-"(=on,near,between…) and the initial alphabet "c". For example, Episode is a part of story that exists "between" two plots and adds something important to the story. Epifauna is an aquatic animal that habitats "on" the substrate such as stone and seagrass, even though it is small in size but it plays important role in the food chain... Akkeshi-cho, where Aikappu Museum of Natural History locates, has developed with primary industries based on pristine nature represented by Akkeshi-ko estuary and Bekanbeushi-shitugen wetland, which are designated Ramsar sites. However, Akkeshi-cho recently faces multiple concerns about the future, such as natural disaster caused by frequent heavy rain or possibility of Japan joining TPP, and so on.
