Coaching Philosophy: My coaching philosophy is that a coach should be enthusiastic, welcoming, and attentive to their students in order to create a motivating environment. I aim to work with my skaters to achieve their specific goals while continuing to challenge them and showcase their abilities. I hope to build strong mentoring relationships with my skaters and to share my love of the sport with them. Availability: all sessions

Coaching Philosophy: As a coach, I aim to share my joy of skating by helping skaters towards their goals on and off the ice. I believe in challenging skaters to continuously improve their skills in an enjoyable, encouraging environment to help them develop resilience, self-discipline, and confidence in skating and beyond.

Carolyn Allwright

Carolyn is a National Level certified coach who has taught in both small and large city clubs. Her experience in coaching is from the grassroots to international level. She has significant CanSkate coordination and administrative experience with programs of all sizes. Carolyn is our Club Administrator and Consultant. Her full-time position is with Skate Canada as a Coach Development Coordinator.

CLAIRE MacINNES

Coaching Philosophy: It's my passion for skating that inspires my love for coaching. It allows me to be knowledgeable, positive, excited, and disciplined. Fostering a supportive environment allows skaters to develop passion for the sport. Bringing a positive attitude and being present for each skater creates a lasting impact both on and off the ice. As a coach I strive to teach skaters discipline, create individual training plans, and support their goals whether big or small. Availability: all sessions

Coaching Philosophy: I strive to spark a passion for sports in my athletes. I provide a welcoming environment for my skaters to achieve their goals.

JAYMIE MARA

Coaching Philosophy: is that a coach should be welcoming, enthusiastic and adaptive to their students in order to create a motivating and engaging environment. I aim to connect with my students to provide them a unique and personalized experience, and adapt to their learning styles. I will challenge skaters to try new skills, but also work on highlighting their strengths and abilities. My goal is to share my love of skating, but also teach skills to be used both on and off the ice.

KRISTEN LAMPMAN-WALES

Coaching Philosophy: As a coach, I want to instill an admiration and appreciation of the sport into all of my students. As a mentor, I strive to teach skaters important life lessons that can be applied both inside and outside of skating. I believe that with hard work, passion, and a strong sense of motivation, any goals can and will be reached. My goal is to keep learning engaging while celebrating achievements and milestones to help foster a fun and supportive environment. Availability: Mondays and Saturdays

LISA ERB

With over 30 years of coaching experience, Lisa has her Provincial Coach certification and is currently National Coach Trained. She has coached skaters from Preliminary to Gold in Freeskate, Dance, Skills and Interpretive.

LOUISA MATHESON

Skating since 2014 Canskate certified coach - 2022 Trained regional coach - 2023 In school for: Honours Bachelor of Medical Radiation Science with a specialization in Radiographic Imaging at McMaster University Coaching Philosophy: My current coaching philosophy is fuelled by my love for the sport and the many opportunities it provides to athletes. A large focus of my philosophy is to place a strong focus instilling a vast basis of basic technical skating skill knowledge into young skaters as basic skills are of the utmost importance in all facets of skating. Creating a strong basis of skating skills and knowledge allows skaters to grow into the sport and achieve any goal they set their mind to. To compliment this, I believe that skating should be fun and engaging for all and it is extremely important to me that skaters enjoy their time on the ice. Availability: Mondays & Saturdays

MAIRI MIDDLETON

Coaching Philosophy: My goal in coaching is to share my love of skating with everyone who gets on the ice! As a lifelong skater, I have seen the positive influence that sport can have, and through my coaching I hope to create a welcoming environment that helps athletes find joy and fun in their skating.

NORA BAKOU

Coaching Philosophy: My love of skate is why I chose to become a coach. I believe a coach should be welcoming, positive and motivating. As a coach I strive to help skaters with any goals they may have. Also, I want to aim towards providing possible training plans for skaters to help increase their learning. Most of all, I hope to provide a comfortable and enjoyable environment, along with being able to show my love, passion and respect for the sport.
