Bill Aitchison

Job Titles:
  • Member of Committee
  • Sailing Secretary
Famous for his well-chosen courses and precise instructions Bill has been sailing longer than most can recall. His connections across the Clyde and beyond are invaluable. From his Loch Long to his former boat Iota many will know Bill from on the water as well as the race box.

Brian Tester

Job Titles:
  • Boat Maintenance Officer
  • Member of Committee
I am a retired Traffic Police Officer and Vehicle Technician. I joined HLSC in 2012, and have been responsible for the Rescue Boats since I joined. I have been a Committee member for around 8 years. I like taking apart.....and sometimes successfully putting back together, mechanical bits and pieces. I enjoy seeing things well maintained and working, and have a passion for making sure our RIBs are in good working order. My pet hate is those who abuse our equipment and can't be bothered to report safety related faults or breakages......we all break things accidentally....just tell someone, so it can be fit for service for the next user. Oh and I look after the starter canons for the club.

Chris Bowen

Job Titles:
  • Member of Committee

David MacLagan

Job Titles:
  • Member of Committee

Duncan Chalmers

Job Titles:
  • Commodore
  • Member of Committee
Having joined the Club in 2009 I can be considered as a relative "Newcomer", initially sailing and racing within the White sail fleet with my Bolero ΒΌ ton Ravels Bolero, I then moved over to the Piper OD Class where Talisker and I still frequent.

Jim Mclean

Job Titles:
  • Vice Commodore
  • Member of Committee

Lorraine Whitton - Treasurer

Job Titles:
  • Treasurer
  • Member of Committee
I have been treasurer at HLSC since 2016 and been involved in the club for many years before that, supporting my husband and kids, who were all keen sailors - well some were more keen than others! I had a brief period of crewing on a Flying Fifteen although my main involvement has been in the kitchen making tea and taking money.

Neil Towart

Job Titles:
  • Cadet Officer
  • Member of Committee
Neil was brought up through the sailing club. He represented Scotland and the UK in various dinghies in his youth. Has taught sailing in the UK and Mediterranean. He now directs his enthusiasm and passion to the clubs youth. We are very lucky to have him.

Sallie Condy

Job Titles:
  • Member of Committee
Although I am a newish member to the committee, I joined HLSC, along with my husband in 2009. He and my two sons have raced in various classes including Flying Fifteens and White Sails. I am a cruiser and enjoy pottering about the Clyde on our Etap28i with Mike and our miniature schnauzer. The skills I bring to the committee come from my work, supporting and advising voluntary sector organisations in Glasgow. I am one of those sad people who like to know that all the paperwork is in order! It's me working behind the scenes of Webcollect and lots of the website.

Scott Crossley

Job Titles:
  • Secretary
  • Member of Committee
From a past life as a very serious mountain climber to the present day where Scott sails his Achilles 24 he has been a life long enthusiast of the great outdoors. Scott races in the White Sails class and also often sails single-handed. But don't be fooled he is also very organised and having recently retired he's got even more time to devote to his role as club secretary. He's easily recognised, be sure to say hello.
