The Kelley House Museum has been a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization since its inception. Its core mission remains that of preserving local history while standing as a guardian of the irreplaceable cultural environment and architecture of the Mendocino coast. The Kelley House Museum and Research Center are supported by donations, membership dues, grants - and many generous volunteers... The Kelley House was built in 1861 as the home for William Kelley and his family. William arrived in Mendocino in July of 1852 on the ship which brought the first lumber mill to Mendocino.
