Dr. Mosab Nasser is a Managing Partner at LEAN GeoSolutions; an oil finder with significant oil & gas industry experience. He is very well known in the fields of reservoir characterization, especially rock physics, AVO analysis, seismic inversion and 4D seismic feasibility & interpretation. Following his PhD in physics, he was trained by Shell in the Netherlands and the United States where he served as the company's subject matter expert on 4D seismic feasibility and interpretation. He then joined Maersk Oil Houston as a lead geophysicist and most recently Hess Corporation as a geophysical advisor, where he was instrumental in the exploration success which Hess and its partners achieved in Guyana. Dr. Nasser is an adjunct professor at the University of Houston, Department of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences. He is also the former chairman of the editorial board of The Leading Edge magazine of geophysics, published monthly by the Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG) and a member of the SEG's publications committee. Dr. Nasser has a broad yet deep knowledge of the upstream E&P business with various roles and increasing responsibilities in exploration and production. He has a proven track record with strong geophysical skills at the highest industry standards that bring significant value to the oil & gas companies. He worked on a number of multi-billion-dollar projects in multiple basins, primarily deepwater and with varying roles and increasing responsibilities from being a contributing team member to a lead to advisor to a peer reviewer and most recently a Vice President of exploration technology. He provided advice to exploration and development leaders & managers and invited to project framing sessions, technical assurance meetings and peer reviews. He has an impressive ability to effectively communicate at all organizational levels to promote certain ideas and technologies. For many years, Dr. Nasser worked closely with many diverse multidisciplinary JV Subsurface Teams on different projects in E&P including the majors (Shell, ExxonMobil, BP, Chevron, Total) to design and deliver successful exploration strategies and field development plans. Dr. Nasser is innovative, out of the box thinker with excellent analytical problem-solving capabilities, with a proven track record to deliver outstanding results with a unique perspective to complex problems. Dr. Nasser has mentored many junior as well as senior staff members at Shell, Maersk Oil and most recently at Hess Corporation. He presented many technical papers at major industry conferences such as the SEG and the EAGE, co-organized several industry workshops and meetings and received several awards for academic and industry achievements.
