Jay Nutting

Jay Nutting is a graduate of University of Arizona with a B.S. in Industrial Engineering. He has been with LMS Building Systems since 2003 and has been instrumental in a number of new construction and renovation projects across the Las Vegas valley. Notable properties he has worked on include Allegiant Stadium, Madison Square Garden Sphere, Las Vegas Convention Center, UHS Henderson Hospital, M Resort, Lucky Dragon Hotel & Casino (Hospitality) and Downtown Summerlin (Office/Retail). Nutting enjoys working with contractors and building owners by helping them understand complex systems and finding them the right solutions for their projects. Outside of the office, he is a sports enthusiast and enjoys boating, wake boarding, snowboarding and golf.

John Kotek - President

Kotek has been a resident of Las Vegas since 1984, moving from Detroit, Michigan with his family. He attended Bishop Gorman High School and was a co-valedictorian when he graduated in 1989. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from UNLV and graduated from the UNLV Honors Program. After spending six months in La Crosse, Wisconsin completing Trane's Graduate Training Program in air conditioning systems, he joined LMS Building Systems as a Technical Sales Engineer in 1995. For many years he worked directly with building owners, consulting engineers and mechanical contractors before moving into sales management, then general management. As the company's president, Kotek oversees strategic development and growth. Innovative in his thinking, he is an analytical problem-solver, which is characteristic of having an engineering background. Kotek strives to uphold his responsibility as a team leader, by working closely with LMS associates and harnessing the many resources that the company has to offer as a whole, to effectively pursue the company's goals and overall vision. Kotek is driven by success and believes that it is embedded firmly in the company's culture and attributes it to the success achieved by the company for over 50 years. Kotek was a "Big" in the Big Brothers Big Sisters volunteer program for over 10 years, he is a graduate of the Chamber of Commerce's Leadership Las Vegas Class of 2001 and past president of the Las Vegas Executive Association. He is married and has two children.

John Miramontes - CFO

John Miramontes launched his career in finance while still in college as a banking intern in the credit department. Today, he is the Chief Financial Officer of LMS Building Systems. After obtaining his degree in business finance at The University of Nevada (UNR), he steadily worked in finance until he entered the construction industry in 1996, working for an underground utility contractor. Miramontes joined LMS in 2016 as the organization's CFO and is responsible for strategically guiding the financial health and future of the company. He heads up the administration division and oversees budgets, risk management, insurance and contracts, among others, to support the capabilities and mission at LMS. Outside of work, Miramontes enjoys spending time with his wife and two boys. He is also an avid golfer and on- and off-road cyclist.

Kwame Coleman

Kwame Coleman is the Building Automation Division Team Leader and has been with LMS since 2002. He is a highly analytical, performance-driven engineering professional with superior problem-solving and project management abilities. With 18 years' experience, he is an expert in integrated controls (link to Integrated Controls page) and the design and implementation of building automation systems, assisting engineers and contractors with the development and application of HVAC control systems. Coleman holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV). Coleman is charged with the opportunity to solve complex systems problems, educate and partner with building owners, consulting engineers and mechanical contractors to share the value and benefit of integrated building automation across a wide range of HVAC equipment manufacturers and design applications. During his free time, Coleman enjoys design, programming and construction of advanced robotic systems and gas-powered R/C vehicles.

Marisa Finetti - CCO

Originally from San Francisco, Marisa Finetti launched her career in marketing in her family's retail and restaurant businesses. After graduating from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, she has worked in numerous industries, ranging from Hollywood entertainment, to non-profit for the past 25 years. A graduate of Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, Marisa joined LMS as a consultant in 2011, then went in-house in 2015. Her strengths lie in her ability to integrate a variety of marketing and communications disciplines with digital creative arts. She is responsible for company branding, internal and corporate communications, event marketing and corporate, trade and media outreach. Outside of work, Marisa is an award-winning journalist, who specializes in writing about wine. She enjoys traveling, spending time with her family and friends, reading, and cooking.

Paul Dugan

Paul Dugan started working in the field of plumbing, heating and air conditioning at the age of 15 for a "jobbing shop" in New York. Called upon to handle spontaneous repairs, Dugan learned skills and knowledge while on the job and through manufacturer training seminars. Working on historic buildings in a large city posed numerous challenges, but at the same time, gave Dugan a breadth of experience unique to his peers at LMS. While at the New York company, he was involved in converting a traditional jobbing shop into a full-fledged service company. By the end of his tenure, he had worked with such companies as New York Public Library and Brooklyn Public Library, among other notable buildings. Dugan joined LMS Building Systems. In 2002. As master plumber, along with his technical expertise and knowledge in air conditioning and heating, he is an excellent resource and advisor for LMS clients. Dugan primarily oversees service sales and projects, specifically handling the owner-direct segment of the business. Over 27 years in the industry attributes to his ability to find unique solutions to problems. He offers his clients with turnkey solutions for their properties by pulling from LMS' vast product offerings, and combining his expertise and the skills of company, as a whole. Outside of work, Dugan enjoys spending time with his family and club racing on his off time.

Thomas C. Lawyer - CEO

Tom Lawyer has roots that run deep in Las Vegas. Since 1969, he has owned and operated LMS Building Systems, southern Nevada's leading single source solution for commercial HVAC. A graduate of Rancho High School, Lawyer went on to receive his B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering at Purdue University in Lafayette, Indiana, and then returned to Las Vegas to earn his MBA at UNLV. He is a Registered Professional Engineer in Nevada. Together with over 65 employees, Lawyer and his team offer equipment, building automation, energy services, commercial building HVAC service, turnkey HVAC solutions, an on-site parts supply store, and financial solutions. Lawyer has spearheaded his company's efforts to achieve the Nevada State Energy Management Award, has been ranked among the 100 largest private companies in Las Vegas and recognized for contributing the sustainability of Las Vegas. LMS has received prestigious recognition from the Inc. 5000 list of fastest growing companies in America in 2008, 2009 and 2010. Deeply committed to community service through contributions and leadership, Lawyer is a board member for the Las Vegas Art Museum and is currently president of the Las Vegas Art Museum Foundation. He is also the past president of the Clark County Library District Foundation. Lawyer has taught at UNLV in the School of Economics for 18 years. He is an active member of the Las Vegas Executive Association, American Society of Heating, Ventilating and Air Conditioning Engineers, Better Business Bureau of Southern Nevada, and the National Association of Trane Franchise Holders, all of which he has served as President. Lawyer is married and has two daughters. He enjoys traveling, reading, the arts, and community activities.
