The Lucas Company incorporated in 1980 for general business purposes. Between 1972 and 1980 the company operated as a sole proprietorship under David M. Lucas, PE. In January of 1993 the firm changed its name to Lucas-Forman, Inc. Presently the owners/principals in the firm are Arthur F. Forman, PE, PLS, and Matthew J. Lucas, PLS... Lucas-Forman as successor to David M. Lucas, PE, has over 38 years of land surveying and civil engineering experience in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg area. This experience and understanding of local trade practices allows the firm to give the client a lump sum fee for the majority of our services. The firm performs surveys ranging from a residential mortgage survey to surveying an 1100-acre McDowell Nature Preserve and 1300-acre Latta Nature Preserve for the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Parks & Recreation Department. We have provided engineering services for retail centers as large as 200,000 square feet, industrial subdivisions up to 110 acres, office and business..
