Andreia Guerreiro joined the firm in 2006 and became a non-equity partner in 2018. She is a member of the litigation and arbitration team, developing her professional activity specifically in the areas of civil and commercial law. She is a member of the insurance and reinsurance group.
She represents domestic and international clients regarding civil and commercial proceedings. She also provides day-to-day consultancy on all matters of civil and commercial law to several clients concerning various sectors, including industry, energy, construction, infrastructure, water supply and sanitation, food, product liability, media and publicity.
Andreia Guerreiro acts as a lawyer in arbitration, ad hoc or institutional, particularly relating to civil and commercial arbitration regarding matters such as insurances, public-private partnerships, restore of the economic and financial balance.
She also has extensive experience in insurance law (litigation), successions law and in registry and notary practice.
Between 2001 and 2004 she taught subjects related to criminal law and real estate law at Universidade Independente.
André de Sousa Vieira joined the firm in 2020 as a partner. He is co-responsible for a banking and financial team, integrating the International Committee of Morais Leitão. He is now head of office in Singapore.
He is a finance lawyer admitted in England & Wales, Portugal and Spain, having integrated Clifford Chance LLP in its London office between 2010 and 2020, where he was a member of the Worldwide Projects Group (Energy & Infrastructure) and of the Africa Group, having also assumed the position of co-head for Clifford Chance Portuguese and Lusophone Africa's practice and strategy, being also the London point of contact for the LatAm market, in close collaboration with the New York, Washington and São Paulo offices. On a secondment basis, he held positions at Telefónica S.A (Madrid) and Espírito Santo Investment Bank (Lisbon). He began his career as a lawyer in Barcelona, Spain.
André de Sousa Vieira has dedicated special attention to the Lusophone markets, with strong connections to the main international financial markets. He is particularly recognized for advising international project finance transactions in the energy, natural resources and infrastructure sectors, having represented lenders (DFIs, ECAs and commercial banks), sponsors and governments.
He holds a PhD in International Finance Law from the University of Barcelona, and his thesis was awarded a Ph.D. Excellence Award. He has a degree in Law from the Portuguese Catholic University. He also holds an LL.M. from the Pompeu Fabra University Law School (Barcelona, Spain), a post-graduation in ESADE Business & Law School (Barcelona, Spain) and an M.Sc. in Financial Economics from the School of Economics of the University of Barcelona.
Over the years, André de Sousa Vieira has been a guest lecturer and researcher at various institutions, including the Catholic Faculty of Law - Lisbon School, the Agostinho Neto University Faculty of Law (Luanda, Angola), the Barcelona University School of Law (Barcelona, Spain) and the Harvard Law School (Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA).
António Côrte-Real Neves joined the firm in 2000 and became a non-equity partner in 2017. He is a member of the tax team.
António assists clients in the area of taxation law, primarily in the area of customs and excise duties. He has further strengthened his area of practice as a result of work involving special consumption taxes, with particular emphasis on the taxation of petrol, alcoholic beverages, and vehicles.
He has been a strong presence in the creation and nullification of bonded warehouses within the context of a major multinational corporate restructuring (2002 to 2004).
António Côrte-Real Neves acts as arbitrator of the Administrative Arbitration Center.

António Pedro Braga became a Morais Leitão partner in 2014. He is co-coordinator of the tax department.
For almost twenty years, he has been active in all areas of tax law, with a special focus on national and international corporate taxation of finance, industrial, commercial companies, patrimony and high net worth individuals, and also on tax litigation.
He also advises large national companies, specifically the northern main groups, as well as international investors in Portugal.
His formation also includes accounting, having concluded an internship for Statutory Auditor in 2003. His career began at Arthur Andersen's, as a tax manager, and he was an associate lawyer in the fiscal department of two of the main law firms in Portugal, before joining Morais Leitão in 2008.

António Pinto Leite is a founder of Morais Leitão. He co-chaired the firm's board from 2004 to 2012.
He has expertise as a lawyer and as an arbitrator in various national and international arbitrations, in particularly complex disputes.
He was Chairman of the Arbitration Centre of the Portuguese Chamber of Commerce and Industry between 2019 and 2022. Previously, he was Chairman of the Portuguese Arbitration Association (2017-2019), as well as the Portuguese Member of the ICC International Court of Arbitration (2016-2018) and the Chairman of the Portuguese Committee of the International Court of Arbitration (2014-2016).
António Pinto Leite was an Assistant Professor at the University of Lisbon School of Law and at the Católica Lisbon School of Law and a professor at the postgraduate course in arbitration at the Faculty of Law, Nova University of Lisbon. He's a regular speaker at national and international conferences dedicated to Arbitration law.
He was a member of the Superior Council of Magistracy, elected by the Portuguese Parliament (2011-2016), as well as President of the ACEGE - Association of Christian Entrepreneurs and Managers (2011-2016).
In 1992 he established J. Galvão Teles, Bleck, Pinto Leite and, in 1994, Morais Leitão, Galvão Teles - both part of the inception of our law firm: Morais Leitão, Galvão Teles, Soares da Silva & Associados.

Bernardo Lobo Xavier joined the firm in 2006 and became a partner in 2008. He is head of a corporate team.
Bernardo has represented national clients in both M&A and real estate transactions. He also provides advice and regular assistance on different aspects of the ongoing commercial activities of our clients.
From 1990 to 2005 he practised law at Osório de Castro, Verde Pinho, Vieira Peres, Lobo Xavier e Associados - Sociedade de Advogados. He became a partner at this firm in 2002.
Bruno Santiago joined the firm in 2005. Partner since 2015 and co-coordinator of the tax department.
Bruno is a Lawyer Specialist in Tax Law, a title granted by the Portuguese Bar Association, exercising his practice in domestic and international taxation, both in consulting and in litigation and dispute resolution.
With over 20 years of experience, he leads teams dedicated to client monitoring in mergers and acquisitions, restructurings and international investment transactions.
He is a regular presence in the tax courts, accompanying clients in litigation related to income taxes, VAT, property taxes and stamp duty on financial transactions.
Bruno Santiago advises clients in various industries, including energy, oil & gas, real estate and construction, private equity and private clients.

Carlos Botelho Moniz joined the firm in 2001 as a partner. He is a member of the European law and competition team.
His experience includes advising and representing clients in competition cases, both at the national and European level, in the areas of anti-trust, merger control and state aids. He has extensive experience in representing Portuguese authorities and private parties before the General Court and the Court of Justice of the European Union.

Filipe Lowndes Marques joined the firm in 2001 and he became a Morais Leitão partner in 2007. He coordinates the banking and finance department and is a member of the firm's board of directors.
Vastly experienced in project finance, he has worked in all kinds of projects since 1995, including bridges, highways, power plants, wind and solar farms, football arenas, LNG terminals and natural gas concessions.
His practice is also significant in the area of loan and bond finance and in the field of capital markets, having advised on several securitization transactions (including the first securitization transaction under the new law and the first synthetic securitization), covered bonds issuances and worked on several IPOs of state owned companies.
His investment fund team was considered by Chambers Europe as "Portugal's top practice in investment funds".
