LaWanda C. Harris is the Owner and Director of Events at Plan Ahead Events, South Florida which is a corporate event management firm with an international footprint. Her company specializes in Galas, Corporate Social Events, Meetings & Fundraising Auctions. LaWanda has been in the event management business for the past 15 years and started out as a corporate planner for various organizations throughout her career. LaWanda is a creative and detail-oriented individual with a whatever it takes attitude and a chronic networker. She prides herself with "never meeting a stranger". Her super friendly personality and conversational tone quickly puts people at ease. In addition to being a busy business owner, LaWanda is a radio personality, an active volunteer for various outreaches and a mentor to budding entrepreneurs. She enjoys sharing her knowledge with others. LaWanda earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration on Hospitality and Tourism from Columbia Southern University. She understands the importance of keeping abreast of trends in the meeting world and is constantly learning, which she attributes to her success. In her spare time, LaWanda loves to travel, thrift store shop, buy gadgets and listen to books on tape. Her main event goal is to "leave ‘em speechless". LaWanda is a mother of two adult children who have left the nest and are upstanding members within their communities and a grandmother to the cutest little girl in the whole wide world (of course). When the curtain drops on her final event, LaWanda plans to retire comfortably in a Class A motorhome with her two cats, Paris and Duke, and live a transient lifestyle from one campground to the next!
