Alastair Jinks

I became involved with WRAP after I attended a job interview with Julia and Leanne. Sadly, I didn't get the job, but they were so impressed with my skills that I was offered a voluntary job which I was happy to do I am working towards an AGORED Level 2 Qualification in Restorative Approaches after I attended a three-day training course with our colleague Vince who receives some great feedback on linked in. I helped developed the new manual around accessibility and I will be transferring some of that knowledge later in this living library presentation I recently completed a video with my colleague Ted and am looking to more of my own in the future I have over twenty-five years' experience in the admin office environment which includes working in a variety of different backgrounds, including a training center for future construction workers such as plasterers, bricklayers and painters; on a construction site regeneration the Cardiff Bay; supporting quantity surveyors in processing invoices for the foot and mouth crisis; and the Welsh Assembly Government, the Community Rehabilitation Company , Companies House . DS Smith Recycling and Martyn Prowel Solicitors. In addition to the above I have also undertaken Voluntary work with WRAP as well as local libraries and half-time cover for an Arts College and with Dimensions UK representing them at local exhibitions and attended their conference for Personal Behavioral Support in Winchester Anyway, a little more about me in my spare time I play golf, swim and do lots of classes at the gym, in Boxfit we use circles as part of a class but Zumba is my favourite as it involves dancing which I love to do and also do Karaoke and have recently joined a local theatre group.

Amelia Tucker

Amelia is a Trainer and Practitioner at Wales Restorative Approaches Partnership. Amelia has experience working within working in statutory child and family services, third sector criminal justice and charitable women services. She has held a number Restorative roles throughout her career and when volunteering. Amelia studied Criminology and Journalism at The University of West England in Bristol where she had a specific interest in community safety, restorative practice, and victimology. Amelia has worked in South Wales with young people as a victim worker where she regularly facilitated restorative conferences to bring the harmed person and harmer together after crime to repair and rebuild relationships. She has developed her skills and expanded her knowledge after spending 4 years living and working in London. Amelia worked for a women's organisation as a case worker and trainer for women who had been sexually exploited and trafficked. Amelia worked in a specialised women's refuge and has knowledge and experience of working with high risk vulnerable individuals with complex needs and who are facing significant barriers to accessing support. Amelia delivered training on best practice to organisations all over the UK and abroad. Amelia spent time working restoratively in Camden working with young people and families who had been known to child services and worked to mediate and improve outcomes for young people in education, wellbeing, health, and relationships. She has worked for statutory services in London where she was a Family Group Conference Coordinator. Amelia facilitated meetings which would include professionals to enable families to create their own personalised plans to have their needs met. Amelia has provided parents and family members with mediation services to repair relationships where conflict has occurred and help with communication blocks. She has experience working with direct work tools and bespoke group workshops to engage the people she works with in a meaningful way, she will strive beyond her work to reduce the barriers for people when accessing support and aims to build resilience by working with people to meet their individual goals. Amelia is passionate about systems change and developing new strategies of support. Amelia is an accredited FGC coordinator and is trained in Restorative Practice by the IIRP. Over many years Amelia has volunteered continuously for victim services, within custody and completed night-time street outreach to protect and safeguard vulnerable people who are at risk in their communities. Amelia is currently studying Counselling and looks to further progress her knowledge in this area to support others with their emotions and wellbeing.

Anthony Houlston Clark

Anthony Houlston Clark is the Lead Trainer and Practitioner with Wales Restorative Approaches Partnership, advising on strategic restorative development in education. He has nine years restorative experience in educational contexts, and is a trained trainer. Anthony has been trained in a variety of models and practices over the years, including restorative approaches and principles, mediation, conferencing, youth mentoring, non-violent communication, and most recently, domestic violence restorative family work. Anthony has completed his post graduate certificate in ‘Managing Educational Change and Management'. Anthony has a 24 year long teaching career, that includes teaching and education team management in Cardiff, Essex, Hampshire and Boston, USA. Although his teaching and training experience spans all age groups, he specialises in secondary and further education, and social engagement with more challenged and challenging pupils and families. Anthony is currently working in partnership with several school and multi-agency organisations across South Wales, to help implement and develop practice with teachers and pupils, and embed a sustainable restorative culture within educational communities and local partnership working. Anthony is also a trained and experienced youth worker, pastoral counsellor, and learning coach. As a Duke of Edinburgh assessor, Anthony has led several Duke of Edinburgh groups from Bronze to Gold award level in successful expeditions. Anthony has led in Welsh Baccalaureate curriculum development, supporting and challenging students in the volunteering elements. He has enjoyed leading on international student exchanges with Norwegian colleges and schools for several years.

Aoibheann Rooney

Aoibheann (Ay-veen) started working with Wales Restorative Approaches Partnership in January 2021 as full-time administrator. Aoibheann carries out general administration duties, including scheduling meetings, writing reports, event planning and social media. Aoibheann moved to County Donegal in Ireland with her family at the age of 10 from London and completed her leaving certificate in 2013 while acting as part of the student council. After secondary school she attended Maynooth University in Co.Kildare to study Digital Media where she received a 2:1. Aoibheann was also a member of many of the clubs and societies and acted as Secretary for the Student Gospel Choir during her time at university. Aoibheann moved to Co. Cork in Ireland after graduating and gained experience working in a variety of different positions such as brand ambassador, social media co-ordinator, marketing intern and as administration assistant in Higher Education. In September 2020 Aoibheann moved to Cardiff in hopes to progress her career in Administration. Alongside her degree Aoibheann has also received a CIPD recognised certificate in Human Resource Practice, a Grade 8 Distinction from the London School of music for Musical Theatre and an OCN Level 2 in Event Management.

Charlotte Llewellyn

Social justice and facilitating growth and wellbeing in others has always been at the heart of Charlotte's work Whilst raising four children, Charlotte volunteered as a magistrate. This gave her a good understanding of the criminal justice system and showed her that there can be a more constructive approach to sentencing, beyond the traditional punitive model. She returned to further education and trained as a teacher and taught in secondary schools and then Cardiff Prison, where She also became involved in their restorative justice programme. This relational approach involved working with offenders to raise victim empathy, take responsibility for their offending behaviour and work out what they needed to do to start making amends. This provided an opportunity for some of the harm to be repaired and for new connections and relationships to be made.

Emma Morris

Emma is a Trainer and Practitioner at Wales Restorative Approaches Partnership. Emma has experience working within the criminal justice system, custodial settings and youth services. Emma has worked directly with people who are in prison and in the community to support them to make change in their choices and decision making in order for them to progress and develop their skills in the future such as building long lasting relationships, limiting conflict, taking ownership of actions, making contributions to society and reintegrating into the community. Emma completed her Psychology degree at the University of the West of England. Emma had a particular interest in wellbeing and mental health and conducted qualitative research into the effects of social media on young people's wellbeing. As part of her degree, she volunteered at a local Pupil Referral Unit. She found great reward in working one-to-one with young people and striving to meet their individual learning needs. This experience highlighted adverse childhood experiences and the need for restorative prevention and intervention in education. Emma's previous experience is working within the prison service, starting as a prison officer and later as an Interventions Facilitator. This included key working a case load of residents on a one-to-one basis and delivering group rehabilitative interventions. This enabled Emma to work across the prison establishment with the general adult male population, vulnerable persons, and young offenders 18-25. It was here that Emma recognised the impact restorative practice and justice can have on a person who has caused harm and the person who has been harmed. These roles supported Emma to develop strong interpersonal skills, resilience, and the ability to adapt to different situations in a challenging environment. Emma has gone on to study counselling to further her knowledge in wellbeing and mental health. Emma enjoys working with a variety of sectors and the diversity that each day brings. She has particularly enjoyed setting up peer mediation programs, working to develop youth mentors in education and supporting parents in the community with the restorative approach. Emma has been delivering an Agored program working with women in the community to support them in lifelong learning and the development of their communication skills and using restorative parenting. In her spare time, Emma loves to enjoy nature and explore new places. She enjoys her time off as a volunteer walker for a local dog's home. Emma looks forward to an exciting career with WRAP and aspires to specialise in complex and sensitive cases, including criminal justice practice work.

Julia Houlston Clark - CEO

Julia Houlston Clark is Chief Executive of Wales Restorative Approaches Partnership. Julia has over 15 years' formal restorative experience, although she has always been committed to positive relationship development and conflict resolution work throughout her life. She is proud to be a Restorative Justice Champion with the Restorative Justice Council. She is a widely experienced trainer and expert practitioner in an extensive range of restorative approaches, from prevention and early intervention in education and families, through to high end response work, including working with offenders and victims around the most serious harms. Julia has been trained in a wide range of models and restorative practices over the years, and is highly committed to continuing professional development and learning. She is passionate about working ethically and co-operatively, and is committed to practicing and modelling being restorative, especially in the way WRAP develops and operates. Julia has led and co-authored the design of several national and local restorative interventions, including the SORI programme of restorative prison interventions (Supporting Offenders thorugh Restoration Inside, approved by the National Offender Management Service) in prisons, with partners including Victim Support and Probation services; domestic abuse victim awareness programmes for offenders, in partnership with local women's aid teams and Victim Support; offender led peer mentoring for Young Offenders, in partnership with Youth Offending Services and local hospital child health specialists. Julia enjoys co-producing bespoke interventions to respond to sector specific needs and issues, such as school and local authority service area and team mergers, workforce development, community consultation processes, and pupil transition work. Julia was a restorative justice co-ordinator and champion in the prison service locally and nationally for 12 years. She has been a driver of restorative approaches development in local government collaborative cross sector partnerships, community safety, children's services and residential care, and in whole family based restorative interventions. Julia also delivers conflict resolution facilitation and skills training in organisations and teams, and offers managers training in a values based restorative approach to leadership, relationship building, and problem solving. She has always been a passionate supporter of multi-agency collaborative projects across sectors and with service users, and believes in the ongoing active participation and scrutiny by ex-offenders, recovered victims, and all service users in interventions. Consequently, Julia has a unique perspective to offer in terms of what works in partnerships, engagement and delivery, and ensuring the sustainable resourcing and embedding of restorative projects. Julia has had a usefully eclectic career, with qualifications and relevant experience in youth work, teaching and community education, environmental health and housing, pastoral care, and in prison and university chaplaincy, family based services, team work and leadership. She has been a regular contributor to media coverage of restorative justice, and is a regular local and national conference and event speaker and organiser, which she very much enjoys. Julia was nominated for the Butler Trust Award and the Guardian Public Servant of the Year Award for her prison work, and has been awarded the Catholic Woman of the Year Award. Julia has enjoyed being a school governor for 15 years, which has brought valuable current knowledge and experience of the many challenges and opportunities facing schools, and those they serve. To keep her skills alive, Julia helps lead local church youth groups and music activities whenever she can, and attempts to parent restoratively, her lifetime work.

Leanne Morgan

Leanne has been the Finance Manager at Wales Restorative Approaches Partnership since November 2015. As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, Leanne is responsible for all aspects of the organisation's finance activities. Prior to joining the WRAP team, Leanne was the Head of Finance at Cardiff and Vale College. Leanne started working for Coleg Glan Hafren in 1993 and worked at the college for 20 years. During that time, she held various roles in the Finance department, working her way up from Purchase Ordering clerk and finally becoming the Head of Finance of the merged college, Cardiff and Vale college, in 2014. During the time spent at the college, Leanne was responsible for various aspects of finance functions including; line management of staff, the payroll department, preparation of management accounts, preparation of yearend accounts, and liaising with internal and external stakeholders. During this time, Leanne studied for the Association of Accounting Technicians qualification and achieved her Master's Degree in Leadership & Management.

Lyn Richards

Lyn is currently employed as a Restorative Officer with Eastern High School in Cardiff. In school Lyn arranges restorative meetings which take place between staff and pupils offering an opportunity to share and understand the restorative approach to resolving the issue and meeting each person's needs. Lyn was a civil servant, gaining promotion to an executive officer. After retirement in 1996 she has been engaged in different voluntary roles. 2009, she completed a Master of Arts Degree at Oxford University in Women's Studies, following a foundation course at Cardiff University in Women into Public Life and Women into Management. As a volunteer with victim support for 10 years, Lyn supported victims in the witness services, [attending court] and the visiting service. Lyn provided support for serious crime, which included murder, homicide, racial abuse, sexual abuse, domestic abuse, anti- social behaviour and young people who are victims of bullying. Part of the support involved caring for the complete family as the ripple effect of crime required in depth understanding, which she was able to provide as part of her restorative approaches knowledge and training. At Cardiff Prison Lyn was a tutor with the restorative team supporting offenders taking part in the SORI course. [Supporting Offenders Restoration Inside]. Lyn engaged with offenders of serious crime helping them to deal with the impact of their crime on their families and their victims. Lyn works with young offenders as part of the Triage Team with Cardiff Police and Media Academy Cardiff - using restorative approaches and arranging a restorative meeting between victim and offender. Lyn engaged with the Women Making a Difference Project, where she supported and mentored women from all backgrounds; women refugees, asylum seekers and women with low self-esteem encouraging them to return to their work place, society and engage with educational studies. Lyn arranged and organised visits with The British Council Exchange Scheme when visitors from Egypt, Jordan and Iran visited the United Kingdom. Lyn has an accreditation certificate with Agored Cymru as part of the Integrated Family Support Service. She supports the Youth Offending Service and attended Greenhill School using restorative approaches to help young people understand the impact of their behaviour on others. Since 2014 Lyn has been an active volunteer and each week supports callers of the Survivors Trust. Lyn has engaged with restorative approaches since 2005 and her objective and aim is to support and help others to have a greater understanding how a restorative approach may provide and meet their needs.

Nicola Waudby

Nicky is a trainer and practitioner at Wales Restorative Approaches Partnership. Nicky brings a wealth of experience from her previous roles. Nicky worked within the criminal justice field for around 17 years at the Youth Offending Service managing a large complex caseload. Within her role as Victim Officer Nicky strived to build rapport and trust in order to strengthen relationships with those harmed and also the young people, children and families she worked with. Nicky has a warm emphatic approach which helps create a safe space in which people feel respected and supported. Nicky has extensive knowledge and experience of working with risks attached to trauma and safeguarding issues which is paramount in her practice when bringing people together to explore thoughts and feelings around the harm and impact on all those concerned. Nicky also has experience of mentoring, attending police stations, acting as an Appropriate Adult and in addition carrying out reparation with young people. Nicky is a qualified Counsellor and Psychotherapist and is a registered member of the BACP. As a qualified & experienced counsellor, Nicky is committed to working within the Ethical Framework which incorporates the values, principles & moral qualities, which builds positive relationships respecting of other people's values and beliefs and focusing on self- worth. Nicky become a Restorative Trainer with the International Institute of Restorative Practices in 2010 and has experience of delivering training within a variety of settings. Nicky works with a non-judgemental integrative approach which brings together different elements of specific therapies including person centred, solution focused, motivational interviewing and existential models. This allows individual needs to be considered as a whole and counselling techniques should therefore, be tailored to meet individual need and personal circumstances. Nicky has extensive experience in particular of supporting people with mental health and wellbeing anxiety, relationship issues, stress, bereavement, substance misuse issues, loss, low self-esteem, homelessness issues low self-confidence, sexual exploitation and abuse. Nicky is passionate about the restorative work she carries out with the emphasis being highlighting the importance of building and maintaining healthier relationships.

Nigel Pope

Nigel joined WRAP in January 2020 and brings experience obtained from his previous roles. By nature he is very calm and considered which can be reassuring for people particularly in stressful situations. Nigel joined South Wales Police where he undertook a number of different roles, including as a Response Officer and then working within the Neighbourhood Team. He enjoyed working closely with the community to address their needs in terms of anti-social behaviour and crime reduction projects. He attended a Mediators Course in 2000 and became involved in officer safety training where he trained colleagues for approximately 13 years. Whilst working within the Training Department, he obtained a teaching degree and became a member of the Police Diversity Trainers Network. He used these skills to encourage appropriate attitudes and behaviours when inducting new officers and police staff into the organisation. His restorative journey began in 2009, when he attended a restorative training course and moved onto to become a School Community Police Officer where he worked closely with 27 primary and high schools. This enabled him to support the pupils, staff, parents and the wider community in a variety of multi-agency activities. He became a governor at two of these schools, in order to support the wider school community and eventually served as Vice Chair until he retired from the police service. He then joined the staff at a primary Pupil Referral Unit where he supported the team for an academic year, gaining a valuable insight into the impact that Adverse Childhood Experiences have upon young people and their families. This experience was further developed when working with the Youth Offending Service as the Victim Officer, supporting the victims of youth crime. He later became a restorative trainer and delivered this training and Appropriate Adult training to community volunteers. During this time, he worked on more complex cases and by using a restorative approach, helped to encourage the young people to make better choices in the future, especially after meeting the victims face-to-face! He helped to develop a training programme to reduce the number of looked after children entering the criminal justice system. By working in conjunction with the key stakeholders and in a more restorative manner, the foster carers, the residential staff and the social workers were making better choices in relation to these young people. In his spare time, Nigel has run a judo club in his home town for the last thirty years and where he still trains three times per week. A number of his students have become Welsh or British Champions and have gone on to achieve their own black belts. Nigel continues to hold a judo coaching qualification and has achieved the grade of black belt 4th Dan.

Rachie Williams

Rachie studied most recently at the University of Glamorgan where she obtained MSc in Play and Therapeutic Play. She has extensive experience of working with children, volunteering with Barnados, Bryn y Berwyn and PAWB Wales through the medium of play. Rachie is a survivor of sexual abuse. She wants all those working with children and young people to gain an understanding of the abnormal behaviour displayed as a result of this form of abuse. She is inspired to see those who are suffering or survived sexual abuse to process this trauma at the earliest stage in life. To help reveal their full potential and become inspired towards their future. Rachie is new to the role of director, inspired by Wales Restorative Approaches Partnerships's values.

Rob Larkins

Rob is the Chief Executive of Vision 21 (Cyfle Cymru) a Cardiff based charity and social enterprise that provides vocational training for adults with learning needs. Before Vision 21 he worked in Coleg Glan Hafren as Director of Finance, Assistant Principal and for the final three years as Acting Principal. When the college merged to become Cardiff and Vale College he decided it was time for a change, took a teaching qualification and ended up at Vision 21. Rob has a degree in Economics, is a qualified accountant and also has a PGCE teaching qualification. He has taught on accounting courses, still teaches occasionally to students with learning needs and has taught maths to hairdressers! He is also a governor at Fairwater Primary school. He is a keen, but not very fast, runner, loves travel, the outdoors, nature, conservation and doing family stuff. He was a football fan but the demise of Leeds United has cured him.

Sansha Allen-Jones

Sansha as a trainer/assessor has supported people with lived experience to gain a qualification in advice and guidance along with practical experience, many of whom have been successful in gaining employment in the field. She is passionate about encouraging people to see their strengths and potential and has experience of supporting people with mental health and wellbeing, substance misuse issues, homelessness, anger issues, complex offences and low self-esteem. Sansha joined WRAP in June 2021 as a Group Facilitator on the St Giles Wise Personal Wellbeing Contract. Sansha is a qualified Teacher, Trainer/Assessor and manager. She has a calm but upbeat personality with excellent communication skills.

Ted Shiress

With a background in journalism and public speaking, Ted started volunteering for WRAP in 2016. As well as this experience, having Cerebral Palsy and having been on various disability panels, Ted has expertise in the field of accessibility. One of the tasks Ted is undertaking is to review and update our training materials in terms of how appropriate they are for children and adults with disabilities. It is his aim to make these activities inclusive rather than exclusive, working out how disabled and non-disabled children can play and learn together as we at Wales Restorative Approaches Partnership believe that achieves more. Having studied Language and Communication and been published by various magazines Ted is a proficient writer, he blogs about current affairs and his own experiences for Wales Restorative Approaches Partnership, giving his own perspective on restorative themed issues. To help us reach a wider audience it is vital we have a variety of different voices and Ted is definitely one of them. Sharing his anecdotes of the obstacles he faces as a disabled person may help many gain a wider perspective on society which is core to the mindset of Restorative Approaches. Ted has worked with computers all his life, studying ICT to A-Level and constantly maintaining his own web-presence, such skills are vital for keeping WRAP ahead of the curve in terms of its social media presence and how to reach a wider audience. We also have him updating our Twitter sometimes, which given he's also a stand-up comedian is a privilege we hope we don't regret!

Vincent Sanderson

Vince is our Training Function Lead, heading up a team of trainers that deliver high quality restorative training across our five sectors. Vince has over ten years of restorative training and practice experience ranging from chief executives, managers, teachers, police officers, families and children. As a manager and qualified teacher, he specialises in education and management training. He has delivered over 5,000 hours of live training and coaching around restorative practice and has facilitated mediation for many people in conflict. He also creates the online training videos for W.R.A.P as well as other partner agencies.
