TIRETOWN GOLF CLUB

Tiretown Golf Club was established in Akron, Ohio in 1950. The organization started as an outlet for avid Black golfers. Today, we are a multicultural group of golf enthusiasts... Tiretown is committed to creating partnerships in an effort to give young people every opportunity to succeed academically and provide an environment for personal growth. Of course, our greatest legacy remains the hundreds of youngsters in the Greater Akron area who have been served by Tiretown Golf Club and Tiretown Golf Charities... Tiretown Golf Club continues its tradition of commitment to local youth. We have expanded our scholarship programs. We provide funding for qualified applicants of members' immediate family and students within the Greater Akron area, including Akron Public Schools. In addition, we have increased our contributions to other organizations such as the NAACP, Urban League and First Tee of Greater Akron.
