Aviation & Missile Solutions (AMS) was founded in 1999 as a joint venture between Dynetics, Inc. and Camber Corporation to bring together the widest range of engineering capabilities to the US Army's AMCOM EXPRESS contract. In 2017, AMS became a wholly-owned subsidiary of Dynetics. In January 2022, an investor group led by former Dynetics executives purchased AMS to focus on critical research & development efforts centered on air and missile defense technologies with a Huntsville-owned and Huntsville-based small business.
