Anthony Hunt

Anthony Hunt was first elected as a Councillor in 2012, serving the Panteg ward. Anthony graduated from Cardiff University with a law degree and spent time working in America before returning to Wales. As the son of a nurse and a police officer, Anthony cites his passion for front line public services, and a wish to safeguard those services, as his reason for getting into politics. Outside of politics, Anthony is a competitive cyclist with Pontypool Road Cycling Club and volunteers as a junior football coach with Griffithstown AFC. A keen fan of music (especially Bruce Springsteen) and the arts, he has also volunteered at events from Glastonbury Festival to the Congress Theatre in Cwmbran. Anthony is a school governor at Griffithstown Primary School and lives in Griffithstown with his wife and two children.

Huw Thomas

Councillor Huw Thomas is the Leader of Cardiff Council, a position he has held since May 2017. Huw has served as a Labour Councillor for the Splott ward in Cardiff since 2012 and held a number of Cabinet roles before becoming Leader of the Council. He chairs the Cardiff Public Services Board and is also a director of Millennium Stadium Plc. He is a member of the South East Wales Corporate Joint Committee and is a Vice-Chair of the Cardiff Capital Region (CCR) Regional Cabinet. In addition, he is one of the Welsh Local Government Association's Economy Spokespersons and a member of the Core Cities Cabinet alongside representatives from other major cities in the UK. Huw is a fluent Welsh speaker who graduated in Music from Oxford University before completing a Masters degree in International Relations at Aberystwyth University. He has worked previously in IT, transport and, most recently, international development, as the Head of Christian Aid Wales. Away from politics, Huw is a supporter of sport, culture and the arts, as well as an outdoor enthusiast and keen cyclist. He has played previously with the National Youth Orchestra of Wales and is a fan of Aberystwyth Town and Wales football teams.

Councillor Jane Mudd is the Leader of Newport City Council and portfolio holder for Strategic Finance and Economic Growth. Jane is a Vice Chair of CCR and portfolio holder for Data driven Economy and Skills; she also represents the region on the CCR Regional Skills Partnership Board and is also the Vice Chair of the South East Wales Corporate Joint Committee. Jane is the Deputy Chair of the cross border Western Gateway economic partnership and a member of the Key Cities Executive board. Jane is Deputy Presiding Officer of the Welsh Local Government Association and is a WLGA Social Justice spokesperson. Councillor Mudd is also the lead WLGA Spokesperson for Digital and Innovation, Chair of the WLGA Digital Leadership Board and is also a member of the LGA Improvement Board. Jane has been a key contributor to the WLGA/LGA Civility in Public Life and Diversity in Democracy campaigns. She is also the WLGA co-chair of the WLGA Safer Communities Board.
