Adam Scott

Adam Scott is the most renowned PGA player with ties to Las vegas. He was an All-American collegiately at UNLV in 1998 and 1999. But his biggest claim to fame is winning the Masters in 2013. The win also made him the first UNLV golfer to win a major. Scott has 13 total PGA Tour wins and 10 more on the European Tour. He has earned over $47 million in his career, good for a top-10 ranking on the all-time money list.

Amy Alcott

Amy Alcott graduated from Palisades High School in 1975. But she had perfected her golf game long before that. Alcott won a total of 29 LPGA Tour events, including a U.S. Women's Open (1980), a du Maurier Classic (1979), and three ANA Inspiration/Dinah Shore championships (1983, 1988, 1991). Alcott is probably best known for jumping into the lake by the 18th hole after winning the 1988 Dinah Shore. She repeated the celebration in 1991, with Dinah Shore joining her and beginning a great tradition at the tournament. Alcott was inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame in 1999.

Bobby Jones

Bobby Jones is arguably the most influential figure in the history of golf. Jones was born in Atlanta in 1902. He was one of the designers of Augusta National and was one of the Masters co-founders. But his results on the golf course are what make him a legend. Jones won a total of nine events on the PGA tour between 1923 and 1930, including four U.S. Opens and three Open Championships. The Bobby Jones Golf Course became the first public course in Atlanta when it opened in 1932.

Brandt Snedeker

Brandt Snedeker is the pride of Nashville golf. He was born in Nashville and played golf collegiately at Vanderbilt. Brandt and his wife Many recently established a golf scholarship at the university as a way of giving back. Snedeker has won a total of eight PGA Tour events as of 2018. His first came at the Wyndham Championship in 2007. He beat K.J. Choi by one stroke at the 2016 Farmers Insurance Open, his last win on the tour. His best major finishes were third at the 2008 Masters and third at the 2012 Open Championship. He has earned nearly $33 million on the Tour, good for top 25 all-time on the money list.

Dave Marr

Dave Marr is the most successful professional golfer born in Houston. He won his first PGA Tour event at the Greater Seattle Open Invitational in 1961. His second victory came in 1962 at the Azalea Open. Marr outlasted Billy Casper and Jack Nicklaus in 1965 to win PGA Championship, by far his most notable victory. Marr also tied for second at the Masters in 1964 and tied for fourth at the 1966 U.S. Open.

immy Walker

immy Walker is by far the most accomplished and well-known professional golfer with ties to San Antonio. He graduated from Canyon High School in nearby New Braunfels in 1997 before playing collegiate golf at Baylor. He has six PGA Tour wins, including the 2016 PGA Championship and the 2015 Valero Texas Open. He beat Dustin Johnson and Jim Renner by one stroke at the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am in 2014.

Mrs. Lee Mida

Mrs. Lee Mida may not be a household name, but she holds a very prestigious distinction in the world of professional golf. Mida was born Lucia Gueth around 1890 in Chicago. She won the first Women's Western Open back in 1930 at the Acacia Country Club in Indian Head Park, Illinois. The LPGA, established until 1950, retroactively designated all Women's Western Open events from 1930 to 1967 (the last year of the event) as majors. Thus Mida won the first ever LPGA major.

Webb Simpson

Webb Simpson was born in Raleigh and played golf collegiately at Wake Forest after earning the Arnold Palmer scholarship. He is best known for winning the 2012 U.S. Open. He has also won three other PGA Tour events. He started the Webb Simpson Challenge (WSC), an annual junior golf tournament for high school boys, in 2012. Simpson is a devout Christian and says the WSC challenges young golfers' skills and faith.
