Dr Rod Hughes

Dr Rod Hughes is a Respiratory Physician with over 20 years' experience in managing patients with the complications of venous thrombotic disease. In 2002 he published the largest prospective observational study investigating the association between long distance air travel and VTE. Since that time he has helped develop national guidance of the prevention of thrombosis in hospitalised patients and has published and presented internationally on the long term consequences of failing to adequately prevent DVT and PE.

Dr. Shaun Holt

Dr. Shaun Holt is an Adjunct Professor at Victoria University of Wellington, has started two clinical trials organisations and formed Research Review, a company that produce reviews of medical research. Shaun holds Pharmacy and Medicine degrees, has been the Principal Investigator in over 50 clinical trials and has over 200 publications in the medical literature. Shaun has been a regular contributor on TV1's Breakfast programme and national radio shows and is the author of 11 books including the bestseller "Natural Remedies That Really Work".

Paul Westerman

A respected international commercial marketing leader, Paul survived a massive pulmonary embolism in 2011 and has since dedicated his professional expertise to support the work of RBR Active™. He also supports the work of the registered charities Thrombosis UK, Charity Oars and World Thrombosis Day. Paul is a member of the NICE Committee (Committee B), venous thromboembolic diseases: the management of thromboembolic diseases and the role of thrombophilia testing (CG144), and in 2017 joined the NCEPOD Pulmonary Embolism study, working to identify avoidable and remediable factors in the management of patients diagnosed with pulmonary embolism.
