Riley has a Master's of Science in Applied Sport Psychology from Adams State University in Alamosa, Colorado. While at Adams State, Riley was a member of the baseball team. His graduate thesis was entitled "A Phenomenological Investigation of Baseball Player's Use of Self-Talk".
Riley also helped found, coordinate, and consult through the Mental Training Lab at Adams State University during his post-graduate tenure. Through the Mental Training Lab, Riley was able to consult with many high-performing athletes at the University as well as local high-school athletes and other members of the Alamosa community.
Riley currently works as a High School Varsity baseball coach, a baseball skills training coach, and a mental conditioning coach. He currently resides in Lakewood, Colorado.
