BitGenome is a generic platform for building environments for evolutionary computation, written in Java... The first environment developed on the BitGenome platform is an Artificial Life simulation in which units compete for finite resources in a Cartesian space. This promises to be a useful tool for research in Evolutionary Dynamics, as well as to contribute to the on-going exploration of the meaning of Open-Ended Evolution (OEE).
