Catch's VP of Engineering, Derek Voyce, is a highly talented, focused, and versatile professional with diverse experience in the oil and gas, wastewater, power generation and renewables industries.
Derek has years of experience in management and leadership at project, department, and executive levels. He provides significant value to any project by implementing strong technical and managerial skills in electrical and instrumentation & controls engineering.
Derek's professional experience includes roles as instrumentation and controls manager, project engineer, automation engineer and specialist, and project lead.
Derek received his BaSC in Electronic Systems Engineering from the University of Regina in 2008 and maintains his Professional Engineering registration in Alberta and BC.
Gord Pogue has close to thirty years' experience in EPC, and is recognized for leading integrated teams from 10 to 200 Engineers, Designers, and Drafters on small to large oil & gas and petrochemical projects. Gord has been Catch Engineering's Design Lead since 2018.
Gord has expertise in many aspects of electrical design engineering and leadership, and projects include: Natural gas processing plant, gas collection and compression facilities, petrochemical plants, oil refineries, alcohol plant, S02 reduction scrubbing facility, oil sands mining and SAGD, upgrader projects, fuel stations, pipelines, and hydrogen manufacturing. Gord's field construction experience includes grass roots sour gas processing plant, gas compression stations, oil refinery expansion, SAGD, and commercial buildings.
Gord received his Electrical Engineering Technology diploma from SAIT in 1995, and his Master Electrician's Certification in 1996.

Kazem is a professional engineer with more than 28 years of experience in process design, commissioning and construction in LPG production, gas plants, water treatment, steam generation, and solvent recovery in SAGD plants. His design experience includes reception facility and high-pressure separation of gas, condensate and water, condensate stabilization and storage, gas treating, dehydration, ethane recovery, NGL fractionation, butane and propane treatment and storage, sales gas and sour gas compression, SAGD, and green hydrogen generation using electrolysis.

Paul has led 3D modelling projects to support the builds of oil batteries, compressor stations, high voltage substations, SAGD, chemical facilities, and well pads. He has a remarkable ability to adapt to working on both greenfield and brownfield designs.

Shawn is an Electrical Engineer with 7+ years of experience and expertise in power systems design and analysis including arc flash studies, protection device coordination, and fault analysis. His recent field of experience includes electrical design of EV charging stations in the USA and multi-disciplinary projects in the energy sector.
Shawn received a Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Calgary in 2017, and a B.Tech in Electrical Engineering from St. Thomas' College of Engineering and Technology in 2015. He maintains his Professional Engineer registration in Alberta.

Travis joined Catch Engineering in 2018 as an electrical engineer with experience in oil & gas facilities, power generation, and control systems design. Holding professional engineering designations, he is responsible for leading a multitude of different projects executed across Western Canada. In addition to his design experience, Travis also specializes in Hazardous Area Classification studies and reports. Travis enjoys serving in a mentorship role at Catch, using his 10+ years of experience to train and advise junior engineers & designers.
