The Chatham Historical Society is a private, not-for-profit museum and school house founded in 1963. Our Mission is to preserve, promote and share knowledge about our community's extraordinarily rich but not always evident history... The Chatham Historical Society was established in 1963 and today operates a complex which includes an 1840 one-room school house and a museum, opened in 2006. The present museum houses artifacts and memorabilia that tell the stories of East Hampton, CT, Middle Haddam, CT and Cobalt, CT History... Established in 1963, The Chatham Historical Society is a private, not-for-profit Museum and School House with the purpose of preserving East Hampton's History. We believe that preserving historic places and events provides an essential link to our past, furthermore reminding us of who we are and where we came from.
