GREENWICH DESIGN STUDIO

The Greenwich Design Studio was part of a larger project undertaken by the NJIT Center for Resilient Design in cooperation with personnel from Montclair State University and Rutgers and supported by the New Jersey Sea Grant Consortium. Titled At Risk: Healthy Coastal Ecosystems and Resilient Communities and Economies in an Era of Climate Change: A Balanced Approach to Protecting People, Property and Nature in Historic Greenwich Township, New Jersey, the project goal was to develop approaches that have the power to protect people, property, and natural resources, strengthen the economy, and enhance the quality of life, not only in Greenwich Township, but in other coastal communities throughout the state. The Greenwich Studio illustrates how architectural research, planning and design can contribute to this form of "balanced approach."
