Dr. Al-Zuhair graduated with honours and earned her dental degree in 2013. She then enrolled in a 1-year internship program in 2014. The internship program provided valuable experience in managing pain and dental emergencies.
After practicing as a general dentist for four years, Dr. Al-Zuhair returned to school to specialize as an Endodontist. She moved to Vancouver and joined the endodontic graduate residence program at the University of British Columbia (UBC). She graduated from the program receiving a Master of Science, Diploma in Endodontics and a fellowship in the Royal College of Dentists of Canada as a certified specialist in Endodontics. She is also a board-eligible Endodontist of the American Board of Endodontics.
Dr. Al-Zuhair is involved in teaching undergraduate dental students at UBC, and she has been awarded the Graduate Student Teaching Award. Teaching and endodontics are her passions.
Dr. Al-Zuhair has a strong background in the field of endodontics and oral sciences. She is a member of the British Columbia Dental Association, the Canadian Academy of Endodontics, and the American Association of Endodontists.
Dr. Al-Zuhair is fluent in both English and Arabic. During her free time, she enjoys travelling, cooking, and socializing. She is also interested in meeting people from different cultures.
Dr. Abbey draws on a broad background of dental experience as both an endodontic specialist and general dentist gathered from working in the civilian and military sectors.
Dr. Abbey grew up in the West Kootenays of BC. Studied at Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario before coming back to complete both his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree and eventually his endodontic residency, at the University of British Columbia.
In between his UBC dental and specialty programs Dr. Abbey worked in general practice in the Kootenays and on Vancouver Island, before joining the Canadian Forces and serving 15 years as part of 1 Dental Unit in BC, Quebec, Ontario and Afghanistan.
Dr. Abbey holds an endodontic specialty license with the College of Dental Surgeons of BC, is a fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada, a member of the Canadian Academy of Endodontics, and a member of the American Association of Endodontics.
Dr. Abbey enjoys skiing and snowboarding in the winter, as often as possible with his three children Julian, Bronwyn and Elijah, and either running or biking around our beautiful city and province in the summer.
Dr. Abbey is an annual attendee of the endodontics conferences held by both the Canadian Academy and American association of endodontics where he meets with colleagues and attends lectures on new techniques and materials in endodontics, to continue to provide current, state of the art endodontic treatment.
