LIAM NOLAN

I'm a filmmaker and journalist who started directing documentaries in 2006, firstly in Ireland for national broadcaster RTÉ and, as a staff video journalist for The Economist from 2014 to 2019. Since then, I've produced and directed for Channel 4, the BBC and worked as an executive producer on podcasts at The Financial Times. Prior to living in the UK, I worked as a freelance print and radio journalist in Poland for three years, covering politics, business and culture for international media... I've made dozens of films on diverse subjects such as: a one-hour film for RTÉ about people living with facial disfigurement, an award-winning feature documentary about boxers and short films for The Economist on war crimes cases, France's far-right, the Vatican's diplomatic power, failing malaria vaccines, gay rights in Uganda, why we like to swear, Romania's last orphanages ... I could go on.
