In the early 1970s, members from three Little River churches - The Congregational, United Methodist and Holy Trinity Catholic - addressed an unmet need in the community: providing dignified, long-term care for the people who contributed to the success of this community. A hospital district was formed and in 1972, Sandstone Heights nursing home opened its doors. Owned by hospital district patrons and managed by an elected Board of Directors, Sandstone Heights is a major local employer that provides numerous volunteer opportunities to support our neighbors who now live on our campus...
