Catherine Rote

Cathy graduated from Oregon State University with a bachelor's degree in Business Administration in 1980. Upon graduation, Cathy obtained her CPA certificate and worked at a large local CPA firm in Portland for six years. In 1991, she co-founded a small firm, which later merged into a local firm in downtown Portland. Cathy has been at Schultz Group CPAs since 1998 and works on individual, trust and business tax returns as well as assisting clients with their accounting software needs. She volunteers with several local charitable organizations, providing accounting services and financial information consulting.

Leah Wheeler

Leah Wheeler joined Schultz Group CPAs as a tax preparer in 2015 after graduating from Portland State University with a bachelor's degree in accounting and business administration. She is currently pursuing her CPA license. Prior to working for Schultz & Crouse, Leah worked with accounts receivable and accounts payable for 6 years and switched to performing full-cycle bookkeeping for external clients in 2013. Outside of work, Leah is an aspiring polyglot and is learning Japanese and Korean. Her and her husband also enjoy traveling, cycling, board games, science fiction conventions, and spending time with their two dogs.

Paul Mueller

Paul graduated from Whitman College in 1995 with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. After several years working for a high-tech manufacturing company in Portland, he went back to school and earned his Master of Arts in Writing from Portland State University. He then completed his Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Accounting at Portland State in 2005 and was licensed as a CPA in 2006. In 2006, he joined Richard P. Sheetz CPA, PC, a small practice specializing in real estate and high net worth individual clients. And in 2012, he partnered with Richard and became managing member of Sheetz & Mueller CPAs, LLC. In January of 2015, he merged his practice into Schultz Group CPAs and became a shareholder. He provides tax consulting services to individuals, closely held businesses and trusts and estates.

Ryan Genor

Ryan is a life long Oregonian. He graduated from Oregon State University in 1998. He started his career with Merrill Lynch as a financial consultant. He later joined Schultz Group CPAs in 2000 and became a CPA in 2003. In addition to his credential as a certified public accountant, he has also attained a Personal Financial Specialist credential (PFS), available only to CPAs. Ryan professional focus includes tax and consulting services to individuals and closely held businesses.

Sarah Lane

Sarah is a CPA with our firm who specializes in individual and trust/estate tax issues. She earned her CPA license in 2006 and also got her Personal Financial Specialist (PFS) credential in 2017 for financial planning. Sarah was recognized in 2018 by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) with the Standing Ovation award for young planners' contributions to the field of Financial Planning. Sarah graduated magna cum laude from the University of Oregon in Accounting and earned a Master's degree in Higher Education and Student Affairs from the University of Connecticut. On a personal note, Sarah is a native Oregonian from Bend who loves to travel and learn new things. She enjoys studying Mandarin, indoor rock climbing, practicing piano, and playing strategy board games - but these days she spends most of her free time chasing her two young children joyfully around the backyard.

Terrance Foster

Terrance Foster arrived at Schultz Group CPAs in the Summer of 2021. Terrance graduated from Montana State University in 2009 with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. Terrance then went on to obtain his Master of Professional Accountancy at the university and ultimately earned his CPA license in 2014. His professional focus is taxation, with experience in state issues and business tax preparation.
