Since 2007, Kate has been delivering valued event expertise through her eponymous event company, Kate Fujimoto Event Design. Although originally focused on chic, intimate gatherings with fewer than 75 guests, Kate quickly expanded her offerings to encompass beautifully designed, larger-scale weddings, bar and bat mitzvahs, galas, and other distinctive social occasions.
Kate's aesthetic, which is a sophisticated fusion of classic and contemporary elements, has been shaped by her unique story. A native Angeleno with English and Japanese roots, Kate spent many years on the East Coast, studying at Brown University in Rhode Island and Parsons School of Design in New York. She subsequently worked in the esteemed fashion studios of Marc by Marc Jacobs and Betsey Johnson in New York City before returning to Los Angeles to launch her event business.
Caldwell, a nod to Kate's grandmother who was the epitome of English grace and propriety, grew out of Kate's desire to produce only the most exquisite, seamlessly crafted, and genuinely inspired events that will ultimately become part of a client's own treasured history.
Born and raised in Nebraska, Matthew infuses a Midwestern congeniality and calm into Caldwell's event operations. Wearing his signature hat, Matthew is an identifiable presence at Caldwell events - setting the bar for both substance and style.
