Jep Seman is co-founder and principal of Colorado Advocates and Chair of the firm's Government Relations Practice. An attorney, Mr. Seman has more than 25 years of lobbying experience representing a broad range of corporate, association and not for profit clients before federal, state and local legislative and regulatory decision makers. His practice focuses on strategy development and direct policy advocacy as well as administrative law and advocacy. Mr. Seman has technical expertise in process and procedure as well as a deep understanding of the dynamics of modern political decision making. His substantive policy experience crosses a broad range of issues and industries, including oil and gas, economic development, natural resources, land use, transportation and the environment. Over the course of more than 25 years, he has developed an unparalleled understanding of policy and political processes as well as established a broad array of relationships across the lobby, staff and among Governors and legislators from all political persuasions in nearly every state. He currently serves as Colorado lead strategic counsel for Fortune 100 oil and gas operating companies and provides advice, counsel and guidance as well as state and local lobbying and regulatory assistance on permitting, enforcement and administrative rulemaking matters. Mr. Seman is a veteran of Capitol Hill in Washington DC where he served as Staff Counsel to the U.S. Senate Environment and Public Works Committee and on the professional staff of former U.S. Senator Gary Hart (D-Colorado) and. Prior to starting Colorado Advocates, Mr. Seman was Of Counsel at the Denver law firm of Hensley Kim & Holzer. Mr. Seman is a member of the Every Child Pediatrics Board of Trustees and the Colorado Petroleum Association Board of Directors. He recently completed 10 years of service as a Gubernatorial appointee to the Denver Regional Air Quality Council. Mr. Seman is a Colorado native and received his Juris Doctorate from the University of Colorado School of Law in Boulder. He lives in Denver with his wife and three children and spends his free time outdoors working to perfect his skiing, cycling and golf skills.
