I focused primarily on the public sector, leading technical teams and teaching/enabling data scientists across criminal justice, public finance, social services and more. There, I built, and led teams that build, machine learning models, deliver tools and supported cultural change - the hardest part of analytics - to enable more efficient, effective and hopefully government/non-profit services. I also led efforts to enhance the advanced analytics technology stack with a suite of packages,trained people to become ‘analytics translators' - business professionals that support the data science process, and evangelized R, Shiny and everything data science. Before I found my passion for data science (for good), I wandered a bit... My work in this space gave me a glimpse into both the incredible good analytics..
