I am Dr. Lynn Walker. I am a board-certified Family Medicine physician with 25 years of clinical experience. For many years, I have done medical mission trips on a yearly basis. In 2014, I was fortunate enough to become a board member with Adopt-a-Village International.
Since that time, we have cared for approximately 10,000 patients in rural areas of Ecuador. To make our work more sustainable, we have partnered with in-country medical providers and medical schools. It has been very rewarding to teach Ecuadorian medical students while treating patients. In fact, one medical student told me that he "learned more from me in four days than he had in four years of medical school." This made me realize more than ever that education really is the key to making an impactful difference!! As our mission states, we provide a "hand up, not a handout."
