COMTEKK ENGINEERING - Key Persons

Brian Williams

Brian Williams holds a bachelors degree in electronics engineering. His life-long interest in radio and emergency communications began in North Texas in the 1970s when a neighbor let him borrow her son's shortwave receiver. In those days, HF was still used as a primary means of communication for international broadcasting, maritime and amateur radio. Using his father's analog communications receiver, he monitored the local Skywarn nets whenever severe weather was in the area. Amateur radio was the only warning received when a devastating F4 tornado struck the city in April 1979. A few years later, in 1983, he became a licensed amateur radio operator, serving as a SKYWARN spotter for 9 years before relocating to New Mexico. Mr. Williams has owned several businesses in computers, security, LMR and telecommunications and was involved in an antenna R&D project for the US Navy SPAWAR. His diverse career has included industrial Reliability Engineering, Manufacturing, Project Management and Broadcast Engineering.
