Dr Christian Veillette

Dr Christian Veillette is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Orthopaedic Surgery, Department of Surgery, University of Toronto. He is a staff surgeon for shoulder and elbow reconstructive surgery at Toronto Western Hospital, University Health Network, and the University of Toronto Sports Medicine Program at Women's College Hospital. As an accomplished and internationally respected orthopaedic surgeon with extensive shoulder and elbow speciality experience, Dr Veillette currently serves as a medical consultant for the WSIB Hand and Upper Extremity Specialty Clinic and WSIB Surgical Program at UHN Altum Health. Dr Veillette is working to establish integrated clinical outcomes and bioinformatics platform called DADOS for the Arthritis Program to bridge the gap between research and clinical care. The DADOS Platform is an open-source web-based application for data capture in clinical and translational research that provides an easy-to-use web-based survey tool, hybrid data collection models, integration into hospital clinical data repositories and flexible development architecture for customization.

Henrique Martins

Henrique holds a B.A. degree in Computer Science specialized in Software Engineering. His expertise is mainly in object-oriented systems, design patterns, enterprise application integration, and high availability systems and network/data security. He has been working as Software Architect over the last 23 years for companies in Brazil, US, Canada and Singapore.

Kristine Pearson

After joining the DADOS team in May of 2016, Kristine has worked closely with clinicians and researchers to provide solutions to improve electronic data capture processes. She is involved in the coordination, development, implementation, and support of new and existing DADOS projects to ensure a high quality of product delivery. Kristine holds a BASc in Engineering Science, having majored in biomedical systems engineering, from the University of Toronto.

Tran Truong

Job Titles:
  • Project Director for Electronic Data Capture Solutions at the Techna Institute
Tran Truong is the Project Director for Electronic Data Capture Solutions at the Techna Institute. She received her bachelors in Mathematics from the University of Waterloo with a specialization in Computer Science and has her Masters in Health Sciences in Translational Research at the University of Toronto. She has worked in close collaboration with clinician-scientists to develop innovative IT solutions to improve the quality of complex care and enable clinical research. She has extensive experience leading IT teams to develop, deploy and support many local, national and international IT initiatives. Tran's area of focus is on the design and development of point-of-care tools to support clinical research, which include electronic clinical documentation, data workflow and integration, data modelling and health ontologies, patient-reported outcome systems, virtual care models and applied machine learning technologies.

Wesley Leong

Wesley joined the DADOS team at Techna Institute in January 2013. He graduated from the University of Waterloo in 2012, where he studied Electrical Engineering. As a member of the DADOS team, Wesley assists the developers in testing and debugging of the software. He is also responsible for providing support for customers and users, as well as the implementation of the software.
