In 1959, Palmetto Fence was founded by Ben Tarrance in Beaufort, SC. Ben recognized a niche in the fencing industry and shortly thereafter the Tarrance brothers joined him in the fencing business in locations throughout SC. Susan Tarrance joined her father Harry Tarrance (pictured) in the fencing business in 1990 and Palmetto Fence became a woman owned business.
