JURA COMMUNITY SHOP - Key Persons

Hilary Lamb

My name is Hilary Lamb and I have lived on Jura for the past 5 years with my husband Chris. I work at the local primary school and I also work in the shop occasionally to cover regular staff holidays. I joined the board just over a year ago and have enjoyed being part of the support network for the community shop. It is important that the board has a cross section and balance of people from the local community and I am proud to be part of the team!

Katy Beasley - Secretary

Job Titles:
  • Company Secretary
I'm Katy and I was appointed as the Company Secretary and Administrative Assistant for the shop at the end of 2017. The shop is so important to the island and offers such a great variety of goods, I don't know what I would do without it, living at the north end. It's really rewarding to be part of such a great community organisation.

Sarah Compton-Bishop

Job Titles:
  • Community Project Administrator
Since September 2012 I have worked with the Jura Development Trust and the board of Jura Stores Community Interest Company to create, develop and deliver the shop project. Now that the shop is up and running my main role is to act as the liaison point between the project and the Big Lottery Fund and HIE who fund the project. I'm really excited about the shop and it's future and intend to be involved long after my paid post has come to an end. I live at Tarbert with my partner, three children and cat. I usually visit the shop about 3 times a week and couldn't live without my twice weekly regular deliveries!
