HUSO AND SONS

The Huso family has been raising quality, registered Polled Herefords in east-central North Dakota since 1965. We have developed a deep affection for the Hereford breed and a commitment to raising cattle that are "Bred for Better Beef tm." Herefords are tough cattle for a tough climate. We get quite a few days over 90 each summer, quite a few weeks well below zero each winter and the wind is always blowing. After many years of working with our crossbred commercial herd, you learn to appreciate Herefords and how much easier they are to handle. We calve 100-150 Polled Hereford cows and 25-50 cross bred commercial cows each spring... After Jim graduated from NDSU, he and Oscar expanded the AI and ET programs and had some success in the show ring as well. A descendent of one of those first 4-H heifers was chosen the National Senior Heifer Champion at the American Royal in 1994.
