Daniel J. McDevitt has spent his entire 26-year career representing clients who were seriously injured or killed as the result of someone else's negligence.
Dan has handled and resolved a wide range of personal injury claims through mediation, arbitration, settlement, and trial.
Dan is a member of the American Association of Justice, Illinois State Bar Association, and Illinois Trial Lawyer's Association. Dan is also a member of the Million Dollar Advocate Forum, a group of trial lawyers with experience handling cases in excess of one million dollars in value. In 2008, 2009, 2010, and 2011, Dan was named a Rising Star by Law and Politics and the publishers of the Chicago Magazine, a distinction given to no more than 2.5% of attorneys in the State of Illinois. Every year since 2016 Dan has been named a "Super Lawyer" by the same publication. The selection process includes nomination, independent research, and peer recommendations. Five percent of the lawyers practicing in Illinois are granted the designation of "Super Lawyers."
Dan joined the firm under its original name, Law Offices of John J. Dwyer, Jr., P.C., in 1996. Since that time, he's represented serious personal injury clients. In 2004, he was made a partner of the firm and is now its principal attorney.

John R. Gorey is of counsel to McDevitt & Cobb, P.C. and works with the firm on select cases involving serious personal injury and wrongful death. John has tried over 60 cases before a jury, settled hundreds of cases prior to trial and assisted in recovering over $80,000,000.00 for injured parties and their families. John has been a valued member of the McDevitt& Cobb team since 2009.
After earning an undergraduate degree from the University of Arizona in 1993, John continued his studies at DePaul University College of Law obtaining a law degree in 1996. John was selected for DePaul's national trial team representing the law school in mock trial competitions throughout the country and winning the John Powers Crowley Award for outstanding trial team member.
Early in his career, John worked for a prominent plaintiff's personal injury firm, Joseph R. Curcio, Ltd. where he was mentored by its legendary founder and immediately began trying and settling major personal injury cases for plaintiffs. After spending years managing his own personal injury law firm, John recently returned to Curcio Law Offices as a Senior Partner.

Ronald W. Cobb, III joined McDevitt Law Offices, P.C. in 2013. He concentrates his legal practice on cases involving catastrophic personal injury, products liability, medical negligence and wrongful death. Since joining the firm, Ron has personally secured millions of dollars on behalf of his clients as the result of settlement or trial.
Ron is known as a dedicated advocate and he prides himself on giving each case the highest level of personal attention. This approach has not gone unnoticed by his peers. When not practicing law, Ron enjoys spending time with his friends and family in Chicago. He can usually be found exploring the Chicago culinary scene or at his favorite local gym. He also frequently travels west to pursue his numerous outdoor hobbies in all seasons.

I recently worked with Ronald Cobb at McDevitt on a referral from an attorney my wife used to work with. It was a personal injury case and as this was my first and hopefully last case I ever need a personal injury attorney for I cannot express the level of professionalism, responsiveness, and extreme realism I got from working with McDevitt (more specifically Ronald Cobb) I was told exactly what to expect, how the process would move from start to finish and more importantly updates on progression even when there was no progression happening (due to the nature of other parties involved) I have high expectations when working with lawyers, I was not disappointed at all. I felt that I got almost as much as I should have, but I also felt my lawyer, Ron, did everything he could and got me results while keeping me out of court during a pandemic. I would 100% recommend this firm to anybody who is reading this review. If you want someone who is going to promise you 1 million dollars for some whiplash, keep watching daytime television, they are a dime a dozen. Serena Offord joined the McDevitt & Cobb, P.C. team in September of 2022. Serena assists the attorneys by handling both administrative and legal tasks. This includes assisting in the drafting of discovery, management of the firm docket, and facilitating client communication.
I recently worked with Ronald Cobb on my accident injury case and I can personally tell you he actually cares about the people he works for. I couldn't recommend a better lawyer especially if you have an accident injury case. He is very knowledgeable and caring.
