Officially formed on 30th March 2011, MIPFM was first known as the Malaysian Association of Professional Property Managers (MAPPM) before changed its name to Malaysian Institute of Professional Property Managers (MIPPM) on 18th July 2012. MIPPM then later changed its name to Malaysian Institute of Property and Facility Managers (MIPFM) after obtaining approval from the Registrar of Society on 17 March 2017.
