The basic tuning is good for pianos that have been taken care of in the last couple years. Otherwise the piano likely need 2 rounds of tuning to get it back on track, (one to do an overcompensating stretch, and one to actually hold a fine tune). If that is needed, I can usually combine and discount the two tunings in one visit for just $229. That will get most neglected pianos back on track. There are severe cases though that would need a follow-up in a few months...
Heads up - I may also recommend other maintenance (optional) like adjusting moving parts for optimal touch or shaving the grooves out of the hammers...
