Dr. Paul Thompson was born and raised in Bloomington, Minnesota. He obtained his undergraduate degree from the University of Minnesota and proceeded to earn his Doctor of Optometry degree from the Ohio State University. While at the Ohio State University, Dr. Thompson served as a graduate student senator and was a member of Epsilon Psi Epsilon. He completed his optometric externship at the Veterans Hospital in Chilicothe, Ohio. Dr. Thompson moved to Las Vegas in 2000 and he opened, owned and operated his practice in Central Las Vegas at Charleston & Decatur for over 15 years. Dr. Thompson is Board Certified in the Treatment and Management of Ocular Disease. Dr. Thompson's current practice is focused on providing excellent, affordable, customized, and quality eye care services to patients of all ages. Dr. Thompson provides comprehensive eye examinations (including but not limited to diabetic , glaucoma, macular degeneration, red eye, etc.) utilizing the latest technology and techniques to determine the most accurate eyeglass and contact lens prescription and evaluate overall eye health. He has extensive experience in fitting all types of contact lenses (soft, hard, multifocal or RGP), treating conjunctivitis, co-managing cataract surgery and removal of foreign bodies. Dr. Thompson is well aware of the challenges patients face in this day and age regarding acquiring and rendering of health care services. He takes his time with each patient and goes out of his way to answer all of their questions and always strive to accommodate their needs to their satisfaction.
