Stewardship Advisory Group, LLC, Stewardship Legacy Coaching, LLC, Stewardship Colorado, LLC and United Planners Financial Services are not affiliated. Our founder, Sean Wood CFP® AIF® CAP® began his career as a technology consultant serving Wall Street companies in New York City with the firm that is now Accenture. His career led to an unexpected IPO windfall during the now infamous "tech bubble" in 1999. At this point he and his wife sought professional advice on how to translate this cash into liberty and security for their growing family. After months of interviewing numerous financial advisors, insurance agents and stock brokers, they found that most were primarily interested in managing their portfolio or selling complex financial products. They were looking for a trusted advisor who would spend the time to truly understand their priorities and values and provide the advice and guidance needed to make wise decisions. Sean experienced this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for himself, and understands how important it is to have a trusted guide who can help lead the way. Sean is the Founder and Chief Steward of Stewardship Colorado, LLC and a Registered Representative with United Planners Financial Services. He completed his undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY with a minor in Management and then a Masters in Electrical Engineering at the University of Colorado in Boulder. Sean enjoyed an exciting and meaningful career working in leadership roles with entrepreneurial technology firms based out of California's Silicon Valley before founding Stewardship Colorado. Sean is very involved in his community and state and served as a volunteer firefighter in Evergreen for 22 years and still serves as a National Ski Patroller at Winter Park Resort. Sean is also very involved in non-profits and government, serving on the Jefferson Center for Mental Health board, the State Emergency Medical and Trauma Advisory Council, the Colorado Commission on Aging, and most recently as one of the nine members appointed by Governor Polis to the Colorado Secure Savings Plan Board, which was tasked with providing a recommendation to the 2020 Colorado Legislature about a state-facilitated retirement plan for the roughly 50% of Coloradans who do not have access to a workplace savings plan. Sean was then appointed to a four-year term on the follow-on Colorado Secure Savings Program Board which is tasked with implementing those recommendations. Sean serves as the vice-chair alongside the chair, State Treasurer Dave Young. The entire Wood family has a real passion for spending time together outdoors with family and friends and in June of 2021 the entire family spent 18 days rowing the full 277 river miles on the Colorado River through the Grand Canyon. Sean also enjoys extended time in the backcountry and in August of 2019 and August of 2020 spent 12 days riding his mountain bike from Waterton Canyon to Durango on the 500+ mile length of the Colorado Trail. Next trip: ride from Denver to Durango in August of 2021.

Silas Collins

Job Titles:
  • Paraplanner
Silas is a Paraplanner for Stewardship Colorado, LLC. While in the process of searching for a job after college he found himself in conversations with Sean about finances and investment, topics he has long been interested in. After a few calls, he saw that, with Sean as a mentor, financial planning could be an ideal career path. As a graduate from UC Santa Barbara's college of engineering, Silas' electrical engineering experience, math skills, and technological know-how have launched him past proficiency in the field of finances as he works to add another CFP® to Stewardship Colorado. Outside of work, Silas has a love of endurance activities and has found great joy in pushing himself through tougher and tougher challenges; backpacking through the Sierras while in college, backcountry skiing with his father in the Teton and Big Hole ranges, and participating in triathlons, which he has limited experience with, but is hoping to complete many more times. Silas finds great purpose in working hard to achieve the challenges he sets for himself. The next big challenge? An Ironman. Silas is an eternal student, always looking to learn something new. He has continued studying engineering and technology in his free time and while at Stewardship Colorado LLC., he has found himself greatly enjoying all the challenges and opportunities financial planning has to offer. Silas looks forward to learning more about you and how he can help you take the next steps in your financial journey!
