Reed Tinsley is a licensed, physician CPA, a Medical Practice Broker, a Medical Practice Valuation Analyst, and a Certified Healthcare Business Consultant. He works closely with physicians, medical groups, other healthcare entities and investors with medical practice acquisitions, mergers, buy-ins and dispositions. As a physician CPA, Reed intricately understands the inner workings of medical practices including managed care contracting issues, operational & financial management, strategic planning, tax and growth strategies.
Reed is an authority in medical practice valuations, sales, buy-ins, acquisitions and physician accounting. He regularly publishes pertinent articles in national and regional publications on a variety of topics in this fast-changing industry. Reed is nationally sought-after speaker on a variety of health care topics, including medical practice acquisitions, sales, capitation, revenue enhancement, and integration strategies. His articles have been published in the Journal of Medical Practice Management, MGMA Journal, Hospital Physician, Texas Medicine Family Practice Journal, Group Practice Journal and the American Bar Association Health Law Journal. Mr. Tinsley serves on the Editorial Board for the book: Medical Group Practice: Legal and Administrative Guide published by Wolters Kluwer.
Both the American Medical Association and the Southern Medical Association are sponsors of Reed's seminars. A published book author, Reed has written several books including Medical Practice Management Handbook for CPAs, originally published by Harcourt Brace. He has co-authored books published by John Wiley and Sons: Performing an Operational and Strategic Assessment of a Medical Practice, Valuation of a Medical Practice, and Healthcare Financial Operational Manual for IPAs. Additionally, Reed authored two books published by the American Medical Association: Negotiation of Managed Care Contracts and Medical Practice Mergers.
