Deborah Kingsley - CCO

Job Titles:
  • Communications Director
A 25-year background in challenging business environments has given me the skills, tenacity and focus to help businesses grow by developing a clear strategy for their marketing and communications. Starting out with Marks & Spencer on their management trainee scheme, I moved to the Law Society where I cut my teeth in parliamentary lobbying and political strategy. From there, I was headhunted to the rail industry as Communications Director for Connex. This role was the backdrop for the complete immersion in national media relations, marketing, communications and stakeholder engagement, where I was responsible for the whole breadth of stakeholders, from a unionised workforce and government departments to passenger groups and a tough press audience. After a stint in Whitehall at the Department of Health and two years in the USA with French environmental services specialist Veolia, I returned to the UK in 2004 to set up KPC. Now, I use all my skills and experience to work with managing directors, senior leaders and departmental heads to bring about effective, measurable change to both internal communications and external marketing. As a non-stop learner, I love immersing myself in each of my clients' businesses, working alongside clients who are looking for support to deliver key insights, build sustainable strategies and demonstrate a real return on investment.

Gill Perkins

Job Titles:
  • Copywriter
I've spent my working life writing copy and content for a wide range of audiences. Starting out in magazine publishing, I moved into corporate communications, marketing and PR, working for a LSE-listed international electronics business in an internal comms and investor communications role before moving onto working in the Financial Services and Insurance sectors. After deciding to specialise in copywriting, because it was the part of the job I loved the most, I worked for an award-winning digital marketing agency, running the copywriting team. This gave me a great grounding in the then-emerging science of SEO and a clear understanding of how to craft great content for online readers. >After five years there, I relocated to Surrey, and decided to start my own business, offering corporate copywriting to businesses of all sizes. Since then, I've written for big brands including Shell and Vodafone, and also helped lots of SME and start-up businesses get their words right. I've recently expanded my business to include writing training, and I've worked with local authorities, private companies and individuals to help boost their writing confidence and share the tips and hints I've learned over the past 25 years. I love being part of the KPC family - we work closely together on a wide range of projects and I'm in the office every week, delivering ideas, strategy and content for our clients. I've been called a chameleon, because I can write in any style, for any channel, at any time, and I'm the go-to pedant for the KPC team!
