As advisors in the School of Information Studies (SOIS) at the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee (UWM), we've had the creativity and support to pilot the use of several technologies to more effectively communicate with our students. With the help of our School's IT Office [SOIS Tech], we use these technologies as tools to connect with both our online and onsite students in their preferred methods of communication. Social media, text messaging, video conferencing, cloud services and instant messaging are just a small sample of services we've implemented into our daily advising lives.
