Ms. Grace practices in the areas of estate planning, wealth preservation, tax planning specific to estate and gift taxes and inter-generational transfer of wealth, elder law, guardianship, estate administration, and related litigation. Ms. Grace has been an adjunct professor teaching Estate Planning for Families and Seniors at the University of Baltimore School of Law, and Health Care Law at the State University of New York Utica/Rome. She frequently lectures to attorneys and laypersons on the topics of estate planning, probate administration, and elder law issues. In addition, Ms. Grace has extensively trained as a team facilitator and is a trained Mediator in Civil Law and Family Law for several of the Maryland Circuit Courts and the Orphans' Court of Baltimore County. She is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, the Maryland State Bar Association, the bar associations of Baltimore County and Baltimore City (member: Elder Law, Alternative Dispute Resolution, and Trusts and Estates sections), the Baltimore Estate Planning Council, and the American and Women's Bar Associations. She is the co-chair for the Maryland Bar Association Estate and Gift Tax Study Group. Ms. Grace is a member of the Board of Directors of Civil Justice, Inc. and By Their Side, a non-profit organization devoted to assisting families with children with special needs. She earned her B.S. degree in Nursing, magna cum laude, from Hartwick College, her M.S. Degree in Nursing Administration, cum laude, from the State University of New York Utica/Rome, her J.D. degree, magna cum laude, from the University of Baltimore. Ms. Grace was a registered nurse and health care administrator for more than 35 years prior to becoming an attorney. Combining her nursing and legal experiences allows her to bring a unique perspective and special skills to her practice, with a focus on helping families successfully address the formidable issues related to aging, death and dying. Ms. Grace was recently recognized by her peers as one of Baltimore's "Legal Elite" for 2009 in Baltimore Smart CEO magazine.
